Lunar Clubman Front window seals

Hi

 

I need a little advice regarding window seal rubbers.

 

I have a 2012 Lunar Clubman SI and I have detected two areas of damp around the outer sides of the two outer front windows. On inspection it would appear that the top outer corners of the rubber seals on both outer windows have hardened and lifted slightly, which has allowed the ingress.

 

I am finding it difficult to measure the seal to order the correct size. All the suppliers talk about panel width. Do any Lunar owners know the front panel thickness, also I need to replace a side window panel seal so the same information on side panel thickness would also be very helpful.

Another thing that I have noticed annoyingly is that when the caravan was built they did not glue the seal ends together. this has allowed condensation formed on the bedroom window overnight to penetrate the side wall through the gap in the rubber seal, I just hope I have caught it in time! We were away in very cold weather when it happened which is something we don't really do.

    A set of calipers will measure the wall thickness. Cheap on e-bay. If your replacing then lift a little off and use a rule then put rubber back and when new arrives rip the old out.

    Well I have measured wall thickness with digital calipers on the front panel and side and have arrived at some strange sizes.

    28mm Front panel

    23mm Side panel

    I have only seen panel thickness on the seal suppliers websites of 25mm 27mm 30mm.

    If any members have any experience of window seal replacement perhaps you could give me your opinion.
