Despite what you think I did understand all that theory before. I was taught by the best. I was merely questioning the paper's use of sucking

That's a nice clear explanation, thanks. Another reason not to choose a window seat and keep your seat belt fastened at all times, unless using the facilities 😉. I do hope it would have been quick may she RIP.
We seem to have taken this off the original discussion 😲😁. But interesting nevertheless.

We're now at Warwick racecourse site and the hyphen-less signs are here too. It's not a good advertisement for a national multi-million-pound company that such a childish spelling error should have been made - and left uncorrected!
Also a bit peeved that what was intended as a light-hearted thread was hijacked for a tasteless, humourless discussion about a fatal accident, made worse by the guise of uninformed 'technical' discussion of matters aeronautical engineering.

Firstly, perhaps you could post an example of said: tasteless, humourless discussion about a fatal accident and again why uniformed?
Secondly you do not own a thread just because you started it and cannot dictate what is posted I would have thought?
Also you claim it was a light-hearten discussion yet you then go on about a the club - a national multi-million-pound company making a childish error? Which is it?
OK back on track for you.
Btw, in IMHO, I don't think advertisement is the appropriate word, an advert usually sells something to a potential buyer? As people reading that notice have already bought a night's stay is advertisement the right word? And if it is then adverts usually are written for the public they want to reach (are all adverts grammatically correct?) in case children. I may be wrong but I have yet to see adults on skateboards and usually adults will know not to ride a bike there
Personally I don't see the sign as a great error, if any? I'm far happier that the club has done something to stop young (and old) using ride on equipment near toilets blocks, walkways.... Surely that's the main thing isn't it.
I would just get on and enjoy my holiday.
