Anyone made this journey before?

We are new to motorhoming and have a 8 meter motorhome. Was wondering how easy it would be to make this journey?

Looking at the map its seems to be mainly "B" roads.

Any help and advise much appreciated.

There are 2 alternatives using A roads.

    1. A698 to Kelso, A699 to St Boswell then the A68 north to the A7 and into the town...about 39 mls

    2. A6105 to Duns, Greenlaw, Gordon & Earlston then the A68 south to the A7 and into town....about 40 mls

The shortist route using the B roads is about 37 mls so very little in it.

You'll find the routes are OK, just follow the site directions carefully nearer your destination, there isn't much room for queuing and the M/H service point is awkward on the Berwick site. Two nice sites, have a good time. smile

as Brue says follow the site directions, since the one way system in Merlose it's fairly easy to take a MH or caravan down the main street but then you'll have a sharp left hand turn in to the approach road and may have to swing out a bit, easier if you come in as directed then it's a easier right hand turn.

Great site, easy to walk around the village from it , and local eateries often 10% discount for club members.

If you like walking there's a great little booklet of 11 walks from Melrose around the area. I think we got ours from the warden's office.
