We’re looking for a stunning shot which shows us what touring means to you – relaxing with your family, seeking new adventures or exploring new horizons. It could be a site or CL, a stunning view on the road, or a hidden gem found while you’re out and about as long as it is taken in the UK.

As well as being on the cover of the directory the winner will receive £300 of Love2Shop vouchers, while two runners-up will also receive a £100 Love2Shop voucher.

To find out more about the competition and how to enter please click here: Get your photo in the Sites Directory and Handbook

There's still time to enter. We have such great photographers on CT - it would be great if the next handbook cover was by one of CTers!

It's to be hoped it's easier to send them to you than post them on CT innocent

"By entering the competition you are giving permission for your photograph be used to promote the Club and its products."

Nice way to get photographs without paying for them.

Yes, as a member of the Club if I can help by giving my photograph for free, I feel I have done my bit in saving them a bob or two whilst showcasing it. Or it could just reside on my computer gathering dust for eternity.

Frankly I don't give a damn, and those that do will not submit.

I would rather the club used our photos than photos taken from third parties unconnected with the club and often depicting scenes which have no relevance. smile

Unlike previous requests for photographs the Club has made (CL’s ISTR), which you might remember I was quick to brand as a blatant image grab, at least this competition has a decent prizes.

As for the Club using third parties to supply images mentioned in the post above, professional commercial photographers are commissioned with a particular brief to promote a product or service. The ability to interpret the brief into high quality images that have the desired effect takes creative skill and ability.

There are many a stunning image produced by amateur photographers and if the Club get their hands on any, then good luck to them. However, it’s never a dead cert, the Club have to hope there will be suitable submissions into this competition that they can use. A professional is paid to meet a brief and if that brief isn’t nailed, then the photographer will likely not get paid. It’s not about saving a bob or two, when an organisation needs specific images, they pay.

One thing to note though Rowena, you ask for images depicting ‘relaxing with family’. How do you cover the release for images showing persons you haven’t had specific permission to feature, in images you use commercially? You wouldn’t want to use an image showing persons who have not given you explicit individual permission to publish, that could get awfully expensive.

EDIT. Just read your entry rules and note you have release covered. <thumbs up>

And imagination using American site images .... is that poetic licence, deceit or stupidity do you reckon?

Yes, as mentioned above, respectable prizes.

A whole let better than the just receiving the ‘glory’ for seeing your images in print.

its a proper amateur competition now and compensation is being given with respect to usage rights for 1st, 2nd and 3rd

Good luck to anyone who has entered.
