As the club purchased this site or will it be only a affiliated site. Has anyone one been, we always use Bridlington but thinking of giving this one ago this year. Lookin at the description the club intends to upgrade it in the future, which makes me think it will be a club site. Maybe someone from the club can confirm which it is Affiliated or CMC

This has the potential to be a nice site but needs some work.

I stayed here 2 years ago and was not happy having to park away from my caravan even though there was a hardstanding specifically for the car at the side of the pitch but was told I couldn't use it due to fire regulations. This was ridiculous in my opinion as the gap between my car/pitch outs still have been far bigger than many other sites I have stayed on.

The location is good as Cayton bay is handy for Bridlington, Scarborough, Filey and Whitby.

There are a number of nice country pubs within a short drive that do lovely food.

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago, in the Laurels area (fully serviced, decent sized pitches with grassed areas)...Club wardens on site busy bringing up to club standards. The site is fully owned by the club but is being run for the 2018 season with existing prices etc except, under fear of losing a few members, the charge for dogs will not apply.

not happy having to park away from my caravan

If this were the case then I would not choose to use the site. Hopefully we may receive clarification

More likely gvw is referring to some of the pitches that would not pass the clubs spacing rule..We did see quite a few of these pitches which i understand the Wardens are not using until brought up to clubs standard...

I like the huge children's play area which should keep the children safe and encourage families.--- If, as said earlier,  towcars are to park away from the pitches, ---that is another great safety feature.

The site is a good base to tour that area.

Surprised that they don't meet requirements for Non-awning though. They must be tight

Stayed on sites in the Netherlands where cars were parked away from the caravans. Motorhomes were parked on dedicated motorhome pitches where the vans could come and go without driving round the site as we do on club sites. It all worked reasonably well except that children were allowed to run freely without any supervision because the risk of being hit by a vehicle was almost nil.

The row of pitches I stayed on was not tight at all between pitches - I was shocked at the reason given for not allowing parking at the side of my van.

I hope the club sort this out as I like the area and would like to support the club by staying on the site but I won't if I have to park my car away from my van

I didn't mind that but also not keen on T&Cs

Sounds like a fantastic site for families if only there were more like them over here.

We have used chew valley and it’s a nice site.  Parking in the car park isn’t an issue for us.  The people next to us were disabled and allowed to park their car on their pitch.

Chew Valley is not a site I have looked to stay at before now.

I've just had a look at the club site reports and for such a top class site there are a couple of negative reports plus on looking at their website the pricing structure isn't to my liking. Peak season, £30 per night is from 1st May to 30th September. That covers the date I was looking at in  the middle of May which is not peak period at anywhere else.

Will be giving this site a miss
