Increasing pitch numbers

New site? Make sure it has half a dozen overnight pull ins, nothing fancy, bare minimum regulation spacing, open for use by vans as well, (car parked elsewhere.) Hook up on a meter, priced separately from main site, tap for fill up, access to cdp, to be vacated by 10am, late arrivals up to 10pm. Outside of barriers. You want to stay? You take the conditions, and the price. One night stays only.
.An expensive option and a waste of space to cater for a small minority IMO

If all pitches were turned over to service pitches then there would be no choice so yes forced to pay for a service I don't require.
Surely these sites have toilet blocks, dog walks, and dog showers because there was a demand for them. Hence the extra charge for a facilities site compared to non facilities.
We like non facility sites and do use them in the summer months but accept that when using facility sites we have to pay more. With this there is a 'choice' so we are not 'forced' to use them.
Not quite sure how having a service pitch would cure the parking across the front of the van, surely its more down to how wide the pitch is.
Motorhomes using service pitches, yes usually to guarantee a H/S, though some stay for extended periods will choose to do so, so they don't have to move the van to top up and empty. Again down to choice, not 'forced'
Pitch size/fee yes agreed, we often when 'over there' will 'choose' to pay a few €'s more to give us a bigger and better pitch.
All down to choice, just like the other club allowing you to book a HS

My OP refers to my preference for ALL pitches to be unified as 100 sq mtrs, fully serviced etc...with a flat fee. I'm sure some one will argue...but surely this would mean that every member pays the same fee for the same pitch..thus making an equal contribution to the 'Infrastructure of the site...

sorry but apart from the second photo/pitch those pitches just look plain horrible to me, scrub land, grass and scrubs. Yuk!
They would have to pay me to go there. no disrespect meant if they are your preferred choice,

over there, at that price, yes.....over here at a flat fee of £28+....I'd rather have a choice of pitch types....and prices

If the club wanted to maximise the potential usage on a site (not knowing what these "future adventurers" we hear about are actually going to want since they are not here yet) it would be quite straight forward to make the pitches continuous hard standing. Just like a supermarket car park,
They already have that, just look at parts of Chapel Lane. Horrible!!

But lots of the site is perfectly OK. Chapel Lane is used a lot for visiting other places and having continuous hardstanding might be the most appropriate form of surface.

Not quite as large as that...more like 90/100 sq mtrs....but yes in the same vein.
Incidentally, I'm almost certain I stayed on that pitch a couple of years ago....Camping Haliotis, Pontorson ?. Nice cycle ride by the river to Mont-Saint-Michel. Could be staying there again first week of July for an overnight (or two) on way back from SW France for St Malo overnight ferry....

...the very same, Watson!
'tis a regular haunt for us as part of the to and fro to Cherbourg....think we might even get DD and SIL over in their panel van this year...

This CC member would like a Club where the members are just happy....
