Read on another forum that there was a vehicle fire on the Edinburgh site yesterday.

Fire Brigade suspect electrical fault with fridge.

Appears all is well and thankfully no one injured.

Owners of vehicle were said to be off site at the time the fire broke out but arrived just after it was notice smoke coming out of fridge vents.

Don't know how much damage to the vehicle though.

Glad to hear no one was hurt. Makes you glad of the fire spacing on club sites and over here.

Oh so pleased no one hurt. Sounds like it was caught very quickly. I wonder if the club will acknowledge it?

Electrical fault blamed for shuttle bus fire that closed Stansted Airport yesterday.

Yes caught very quickly by other campers it would appear who came out with fire extinguishers, fire brigade called and attended. Wardens seemingly helped deal with everything.

So glad no one hurt, they seem to be getting more frequent these days, I wonder if courses are properly investgated as there never seems to be information published by the club or anyone else which could prevent a future problem, undecided

27 years, DD? I wouldn't call that frequent.

I wonder if the increase in number of these incidents due to more vans being out more often.

Glad that it was caught quickly and that no-one was injured.

6 years ago on our first holiday in the caravan at Pembrey, there was a caravan fire at 3am, very frightening to witness. All that was left was the chassis and their car was a burnt shell. I don't want to witness another.

Strange that there was nothing about this fire on the Local Edinburgh news. ---Mind you,.  Edinburgh appears to have moved mysteriously a few hundred miles south according to [Deleted User User] laughing so it was probably on the local news in the wee bit of land south of the Scottish border  ( England ) wink
