The Isle of Arran is a very scenic and interesting place, I've been there many times.
That said, it's not a big Island and you can cycle around it in a day 56 miles approx. . There is only one road around the Island and the "String Road" which crosses the Island. Would depend how long you are staying there, Loads of off road cycling opportunities
A must, if you are reasonably fit, is to walk up Goat Fell, the highest hill on Arran, the views are stupendous. The Distillery and the Micro Brewery, both to the north of Brodick are worth a visit.
Regards Kennine.

There's a site at the very south that is good:
Nearby pub/restaurant, great microclimate. Right on the beach. Dog friendly. Owners quirky but OK. Limited 'van spaces though (campervans and tents mostly) so book well in advance.
There's another good site at the very North (forget its name now) near the ferry to Kintyre, but that's about it as regards where to go.
As has been mentioned, Arran's a small place. Friendly though and good for a few days at least.

Re the ferry to Claonaig, the ferry itself is fine but the road from the ferry on Kintyre is single-track for the first mile or so, so you need to take care till you get to the main road. Whatever you do don't go left out of Claonaig, the direct road from there to Carradale is single-track and you can't see what's coming in pany places. GO round via the A83. CMC site at Carradale is very good BTW.

Hello Easygoing, My wife and me along with two teenage grandsons are heading to Ardlui CL on Friday. We will be there for two weeks. We stayed here almost 17 years ago so looking forward to going back. It is now under different ownership. The last couple of years we sent at Middletons Caravan Site in Lamlash but this is not up and running this year as the proprietor is retiring and as yet there is no one in place to take over. This may change in time. There is a site at Lochranza just as you come of the ferry. It has a Web site. There is a small site at Shiskine hat was a CS. Not sure if it still operates under this or if its independent. The other site mentioned earlier is at Kildonan and is called Seal Shoreditch. It also has a Web site. Arran is often described as Scotland in miniature with mountains to the north and farmland to the south. Plenty of places to visit, Castle, distillery, craft shops and loads of golf courses open to visitors. Hope this is of some help.
