Hi all

We are thinking of going to this site in a couple of weeks. This will be our first time at this one can anyone say what it is like and also is the bar/restaurant any good and is there any good cycle routes nearby.

Thanks

40 reviews on here, 62 on UKCampsite, and 91 on Trip Advisor and I think they cover all the points you mention.

    Use it occasionally.

Lacks the polish of a fully fledged CAMC site but good enough.

    Not used the restaurant.

Lovely site, only problem is the electrics are only 10 amp unless you use a service pitch. Haven’t used the restaurant but have only heard good reviews.

Have been there a couple of times, It's looks like a standard CMC type site, but it has good views of the Ochil Hills. There is a good cycle track adjacent to the site.  Good base for walking in the Ochils and visiting Stirling.

Thanks for all the replys. We went to this site at the weekend and loved it the views were great and the pitches spacious. We had a meal in the Woodman Restaurant on Friday night which was great nice food and great service. Overall a good site and we hope to return.

    Thanks

Francis, sorry hadn't seen your original post about The Woods. We stayed here about 8 years ago and though its only 40 mins from home we liked it and the area.

Close by is the retail outlet park Stirling Mills, across the road from them is a lovely little Cottage eatery that does the most wonderful High Tea's.smile

Close by there is also Gartmorn Dam lovely walks and bike ride, of course Stirling isn't far away so the Castle and Wallace Monument both worth a visit.

Yes there seemed to be a lot to do in the area. We normally go to the AS site at Blair Drummond but thought we could give the Woods a try. We really enjoyed it so plan to go back and possibly stay longer than 2 nights next time.
