Van Donation

Can anybody suggest a charity/group in the East Midlands who would accept the donation of our 2 berth caravan (fully equiped) as we are giving up our caravan.
But rather than selling it we would like to donate it to a charity for use by disabled couples.
The van is a 2008 2 berth Avondale converted by Fry’s and has a ramp which can be fitted for wheelchair access.

A google search for 'caravanning for the disabled charity' brought up a number of possible leads

Try googling caravans for charities or something similar.  You will no doubt get a number of hits to follow up.

What a fabulous idea to help other folk.

Timpson's (shoe repairers, key cutting etc.) do a great deal for disadvantaged family's, at the moment they are offering free holidays to foster carers and their foster children, many of who are disabled. They might be worth a 'phone call to see if it they would be able to use it. Lovely idea, I admire your generosity.smile

MH - did you have any luck donating your van, and if so, which charity has the benefit of it?

Thanks for all your help. Unfortunately  we have had no success - so we will be selling the van.

What a lovely idea to donate your van. How sad you had no takers - probably like furniture got to have fire test labels or electrical test etc.

Hopefully Help for Heroes will be grateful, they do great work. Maybe it could be a project to refurb, sure it's not needed because of lack of care, to meet standards - 2 for the donation of one 😉

    Do keep us posted.

It seems a shame that we can't help each other with things like this 😢
