Thanks, C. We threw our old Melamine plates out when we bought a new set of Corelle last year but now find that we need about 4 small side plates. Hope they're on offer and not as part of a bigger set.

Ditto here, we never realised how large the Corelle plates are - the side plates are large and the dinner plates are gigantic!

The cheapest plates and dishes at IKEA are white toughened glass. Light and strong, great for the caravan and very cheap.

Does anyone know if the tv in the special buys runs on 12 volt or just mains? We could do with a new tv as our curent one doesn't retain it's tuning when turned off so must be retuned every time. We are very rarely on EHU so must have a 12 volt one and the Aldi site doesn't specify.

Andy - I am sure that it does run on 12v.  However, I bought one two years ago - same make, I believe - and I had a problem in that it kept dropping the signal.  Tested it on a site we had used many times and where we previously had perfect reception and it was also the same in a friend's van on the same site.  I ended up spending a lot more and getting an Avtex which has performed faultlessly ever since.  I'm not knocking Aldi - I've bought loads of things from there in the past and never had a problem - in my experience everything has always been good value, but there was definitely a problem with that TV - just so you're aware.

We tried TV when last on sale but had to return it as the DVD sound quality was poor, although strangely TV sound itself wasn’t too bad. They hadn’t got any more left, so we opted for money back. And bought a more expensive Avtec.

Flatcoat - my only experience was that I bought one a couple of years ago - at the same time I bought their caravan TV.  I took the TV back because it kept dropping the signal (see earlier post) and I also took the satellite dish back.  Two issues - firstly, try as I might, I just couldn't get it to pick up a signal (but that might have been me, or the decoder I was using) - and secondly, it comes with a suction mount which meant either putting it on the roof of the van (impractical when trying to align it) - or on the roof of the car.  Didn't like that idea because it might either damage the car roof - or else at some point I would end up driving off with it still attachedfoot-in-mouth

I then looked at buying a tripod to mount it on - that meant modifying the bracket or adapting it to get it to fit onto a tripod and it all became too much of a pain for the potential reward.

That was why I bit the bullet and bought an Avtex TV with "Easyfind" technology built-in, together with their flat  Easyfind satellite dish and although much more expensive than the Aldi offering, works like a treat every time and is so easy to set up.

I've got to the stage in life when, if things don't work as they should, it annoys me and if it means paying a bit more for something that does the job as it should, without any hassle, then that suits me fine!
