We stayed at the Bungalow CL Weedon Bec, Daventry, about 20 Miles from Wellingborough.   No hardstanding or shower or toilet or come to that ehu.  We have used it before, as it is about half way to the tunnel.  So get there after work.

Rockingham CL, 45 minutes drive to Alde Heating. Hard standing and electric and views to die for.

It was only for an overnight stop arrived at 9pm left by 7 30am, would have bothered plugging in even if there was ehu.   After the fluid change went onto Hollow meadow near Stratford upon Avon nice enough good views and ehu.

I used this one 4 years ago I paid £9 (says from £10 at present) there was a toilet available on site and EHU. I think 3 grass and two hard standing, Very pleased. 15 mins from Alde. Found a large and popular modern pub about 10 mins away for lunch and a supermarket a few miles further for sandwiches for later.

Arrived jusr after 12pm, left 7.30am motor moving caravan into workshop by 7.50am smile

Very popular site when I was there and I felt fortunate to get a pitch, Sandy area and grass drains well.

Just to add it was 6 miles from Alde. I could have overnighted on Alde car park with EHU but after a 3 or 3.5hr drive preferred to pitch here. After lunch and a natter with a neighbour I sat in the sun with a coffee followed by a glass of scotch as I did the crossword. Watched a DVD that evening and thought how pleasant to have me time on a nice friendly site. I strolled down to the house to pay around 6pm (owner out during the day). Gave him £10, I didn't really want change as I considered the site good value, but the owner insisted on going for £1 change smile

Sorry to go on Nellie ........ but I see that my review is there!

    What a cracking site

As I have to be at the Alde service centre nearby before 9am and with the trip being 160 miles from home I booked in there for one night. What a lovely site. Well maintained and well spaced. I was sorry not yo have been there with my other half in which case we would definitely have stopped longer. It rained heavily overnight but the grass pitches are on a very sandy soil and water just disappeared, Everything about the site gave the impression of somebody who cares.

We overnighted at Alde UK, on EHU. Good TV signal there for a night in.

As everybody I read comments on we also benefitted from their excellent service.

I had forgotten, that.   They have an ehu and tap you can connect to.  Our problem was we went down after work so the compound would have been locked up.

Re the G13 oats antifreeze ethylene glycol for Alde 3020....Does anyone use any other good quality branded product 5 year duration,   that matches the Alde spec brand without invalidating a warranty.

I also overnighted at Alde in Wellingborough. Excellent service, slept in the van in car park and ate at Sainsbury's 2 minutes down the road. We had a Coachman Laser 620 at the time and they made a really good job of changing the fluid, i had no problems with air at all. Top class service!

For those who have Alde systems on the 3020....Alde technical advise as follows....If you have blue 2 year antifreeze in your heating system and you need to top up and cannot get stocks of blue then it is acceptable to add magenta 5 year but you cannot exceed 2 years life....If you have magenta in your system and need to top up you must only add magenta..You must never add blue.

hope this clears up the issue of what to do.

Seems there's quite a price premium by having Alde on the bottle if a bottle of Gee antifreeze 😞

The more I learn about caravans the more I realise that with a little research, virtually all maintenance jobs are within my capabilities. The changing of the central heating fluid is not rocket science but I would like one of the pumps the pros use but it can be done without I understand?
