When should you cancel a club site.

I experienced another side to the Club when we were staying at Sandringham last week.  The weather throughout Norfolk was bad and at Sandringham in particular.  From about Tuesday onwards, most of the water points had frozen and movement around the site was difficult to say the least.  We were due to leave on the Friday but by Wednesday could see that would be unsafe, so decided to stay on until this Monday when the weather should have improved.  However on the Friday, due to a fault with the automatic gas tank reporting system, the site ran out of gas and therefore no showers or heating in the toilet blocks.  A very nice warden visited everyone on site, explained the situation and offered everyone a night's refund for their inconvenience during the week - notwithstanding the fact that within about half an hour of him doing this, the gas tanker arrived and replenished the tanks.  In my opinion, that was excellent customer service, because although only a relatively small financial gesture it did show the Club cared about its customers.
