Motorhome suggestions and tips for touring Ireland
We arrive in Larne, Ireland at Easter and are looking for suggestions and tips re motorhoming around the island. As this is our first visit we would hope to take in the best of everything on offer. Just not sure where to start. Any information appreciated.

As this thread is in the "UK sites and touring" section I assume that you are just visiting Northern Ireland.
We visited NI about 4 years ago and were able to have an enjoyable fortnight. (We would have stayed longer but the weather wasn't very good!)
Research was easy with the following:
A guide book
Collins Ireland Road Atlas
National Trust website
CCC and CC (CAMC) handbooks
Information from NI Tourist Board, especially about commercial campsites.
You will surely have ideas of key places and sights you wish to visit and you should be able to find sites near those places. (I don't know your interests or what you wish to visit.)
We stayed at some certificated sites or locations and some commercial sites which we found through use of the above. The only site we booked before sailing was the certificated one near to The Giant's Causeway as that was over a Bank Holiday. There is council run site called Jordanstown Loughshore at the side of Belfast Lough which is well situated for travelling into the city by bus. For that site we needed to phone the council number provided to obtain the access code for entering the site as the warden is only there for a few hours in the evening.
Everything really was very easy and we were able to work out an itinerary as we went along (having decided in advance the places we wished to visit but not necessarily knowing before we started our trip on which days).

If its not just northern ireland you're visiting Irish heritage cards are worth buying if you think you'll be visiting lots of monuments in the Republic http://www.heritageireland.ie/en/info/heritagecards/
one of our favourites was newgrange and the nearby newgrange lodge had five motorhome hookups. If you're going to Belfast the dundonald ice rink has a campsite https://theicebowl.campmanager.com/CheckAvailability.asp. Regular buses into the city or its a quick taxi ride.

We were there last year, also via Larne.
From a site at Antrim we went to the Titanic Museum at Belfast , we thought it really good.
From a site at Bushmills, we did the Giants Causway, and the Carrick Rede rope bridge, both are National Trust, and well worth it we thought.

From there we went down into the Republic to a site near Sligo which has huge beaches and sand dunes, then a few days in Galway which is lovely and the last 2 nights in Dublin returning into Liverpool.
Don't forget your waterproofs, it rains a lot, and we found things expensive compared to home.

PS to do the above took us 3 weeks !
& motorways in the republic are toll but reasonable.

We have a number of CL Sites in Northern Ireland and as mentioned the CL Site, Feigh Farm, close to the Giant's Causeway is in a superb location and gets great reviews.

There is a campsite at Castle Ward National Trust house - great for exploring the house and estate. There are some lovely walks and views.
