Just had my renewal from the Club for my motorhome insurance. It has gone up a bit since last year, no doubt helped by the increase in insurance tax! Thought I would look at the other Club which seems to work out at a very similar price. I have heard a lot about Comfort Insurance on different forums and they seem to have a good reputation? Their quote was considerably lower than both clubs so perhaps time for a change? Any views on Comfort?

Can't comment on Comfort, but I've used Caravan Guard for several years and have been quite happy.

If tax is the reason for insurance increase, how come my car insurance has decreased by £25+ this year.?

i would certainly carry out more research.

I use 'Comfort' for my Bailey Autograph insurance and found them much cheaper than either of the clubs. Additional discount is also available using the Facebook Bailey Motorhome Owners Club. The policy is underwritten by Aviva.

Me too, although fortunately not needed to use them for a claim. Hope that it continues that way.

I've been with Comfort for many years. They paid out for a new A-class windscreen for me without quibbling and without penalising me.

Have you tried the NFU, they are usually very competitive especially for the larger motorhome. Now on my 6th year with them and have had one claim witch was dealt with efficiently and no quibbles.

Bit of a result today. I decided to ring the Club to see if there were any changes that could be made to reduce the premium. The only change as a slight reduction in estimated value as it was still based on purchase price and I imagine that only market value would be paid anyway. Suddenly the price was much lower, not because of the slight drop in value but because they used a different insurer. I did ask why they don't do that automatically but it seems unless you ask they just keep you on the same insurer regardless of whether there are cheaper options. I am glad I asked!!!
