Due to the ongoing site construction and the clubs statement on noise. We have been on site since Wednesday and it hasn't bothered us. The works do carry noise all day from around 8am until last light including Saturday and today so may be troublesome for some. The construction work is going on behind the perimeter hedge so can't be seen from the site but i would think the hedge may be taken out eventually. The noise is all to do with ground work, diggers, scrapers and dump trucks etc. I suppose you can liken it to a farmer ploughing or reaping fields all day.

The extra 81 pitches will more than double the size of the site and with the newly acquired site at Scarborough will certainly expand the capacity along this stretch of coast.

We were there back in July last year and work had already started. I am somewhat surprised that is is still going on and more progress has not been made?

Seems to be in the process of completion. Toilet/shower block is finished, roads into and out of the new field from the existing site are made. When we left yesterday several lorries full of tarmac were waiting to deliver. I hope they got it done before the snow.

It seems it will be ready quite soon.

They are still doing the entrance at Knaresborough site as well, having just left it yesterday. If you intend going in the near future you may find yourself entering the site through the exit, if that makes sense. Same type of work as Harry describes but it shouldn't take long now. Service pitches open up there on Thursday, due to a planning problem they couldn't open them beforehand.
