Fridge Light Problem?
Having recently replaced the blown lamp bulb in my van fridge and put on a new cover which had burnt, I've just discovered that the same thing has happened again. A bit perplexed I had the bright idea of setting the video on my tablet running and putting it inside the fridge with the door closed to see what happened. It appears that the light bulb stays on even with the fridge door closed. Anyone know if this is normal? I can't see any switch on the door surround which would turn the bulb off when the door closes. We've had the van for 8 years now and it's never happened before - the only solution I can think off is simply to remove the bulb full stop!

I'm guessing you have a Dometic fridge. Some models have a low ambient setting that cuts in when outside temperatures are close to freezing. Absorption fridges are less efficient at low outside temps. To keep the freezer section below zero this sensor or switch overrides the light switch and turns on the 10W bulb to warm the interior of the fridge. this causes the cooling circuit to cycle and keeps the freezer freezing.
I would check your manual or Dometic website to see if yours has this.
