Hope the snow that is forecast on Monday night will not stop you from working MM or cause havoc with your awning

I haven't got my rota for that week yet, Milodog. Monday might be a day off, here's hoping!
Tonight's going to be a busy night though because after I finish work, I need to drive the Smart car to the house address at Goring by sea to swap it over for the Shogun. Then drive the Shogun back to the club site in Gatwick. So it will be 11.30 p.m. by the time I get back to the site. The site barriers will be locked by then which means having to park the car in the car park outside and walk back to our pitch.

Sunday is a day off which is why there's no need to bring the Smart car back to the site. We'll need to get the awning down and get stuff packed away in the Shogun ready for our move to Brighton club site on Monday. We need to get checked into Brighton club site as early as possible in the afternoon, so that there's time to get the awning up before the daylight fades away. Once the towing job is done, we need to get back to the house address to swap over the cars once again.

Another beautiful sunny but cold day here today, frost overnight but now gone from the cars, ground still frozen in places.
Bed stripped and remade, washing machine on, free wash courtesy of the solar panels.
Now off to see Mum then up to sons house again to do another couple of hours in the garden. Think that will be the last until we get back from Lanzarote 3rd week in March.
Son will be coming up then for a week to do some work and collect his daughter from boarding school for the 3 weeks Easter break.
Where is this year going.
Have a safe trip brue and DSB and anyone else brave enough to venture out this weekend/week hope its not going to be as bad as they forecast, we have an early morning flight at Glasgow on Thursday.

I got a new phone yesterday, so today I'm trying out all the features. I've discovered that I can write on photos! Simple pleasures. I'm sure there will be a more sensible use for it than this -

Just back in from a walk on the beach 🏖 Bright and sunny but mighty cold due to strong Easterly wind. Sea absolutely crashing onto the beach and waves high enough to surf 🏄 on coming into the harbour. Sorted out logs so will light the fire shortly 🔥then settle down and vegetate 🤗

Blimey, Goldie, That Is Brilliant !!
You'll be able to foto each of you beasts, write it's herd number or whatever & keep a library of them just in case the ' the light fingered ones ' take a liking to a few score of them. The Cumbrian Bobbies would have no trouble picking yours from a mixed up herd would they !!
Might even be worth setting up a While you wait " Farm Animal Photo-Shop "
What price 'Diversification in the Countryside"

The two ear tags tell us everything about the cow. One is the compulsory CTS one, showing the herd number and unique 6 digit passport number.
The other is a management tag, showing date of birth and sire. In this case LJE (Llandovery Jinny’s Empire).
There is also a small transponder tag that is picked up by the reader as the cow goes into the stall work in the milking parlour, and so the system knows how much cake to dispense and records the milk yield on the dairy computer.
But only my scrawling tells you it is a COW!
Animals are more closely monitored and traceable than us humans!

Not quite such a hard frost this morning, but feeling a bit colder because the wind is stronger. We walked from Todenham, just up the road this morning, slightly mis-timed as we arrived back too early for the village pub to be open! Time to concentrate on the rugby now while Mrs M is off to "just look at the shops" in the village - yeah, right!

No Val as we'd already eaten in Leeds at lunch time before heading to Otley prior to returning to the Knaresborough site. Enjoyed the dy though.
Lovely day today. Drove to Harrogate and walked down to the RHS Harlow Carr and then back along some of the scars overlooking the valley. Beautiful scenery and enjoyable sunshine. We were well wrapped up, no point in buying this winter gear stuff if you don't use it. A nice bite to eat back in Harrogate at the Coach and Horses (Braised Featherblade Steak and mash for me, yum) before buying some bits and pieces.
Amazed at the number of folk wandering around glued to their phones etc. Hardly any interaction going on at all, and all ages were the same.

I've arrived too early for work, so taking this opportunity to catch up on the posts here. It looks like everyone's feeling the cold! It was warm enough in the awning this afternoon though with the sun coming through the front window! The sun has set now so I guess the temperature will start dropping as the evening wears on.

Collected my new printer from JL this afternoon, an HP Envy 6200 All in one series. Works perfectly well on USB but I am struggling with wireless. Will have to wait until Simon can come over and help me set it up, he does that sort of thing for a living. It seems that you can have the USB and wireless connected at the same time, unless I have that wrong.

Good to hear you are enjoying your break WN, I enjoyed ValDa''s bit about Otley. Must get there one day. We've had a v funny afternoon at the theatre seeing a condensed version of the Vicar of Dibley, nice drive home in the sunshine. That's it till we return from our trip, keep warm folks!

The HP printers I have seem to either work on WiFi or USB not both on the same device. However they also work as a network printer through the Ethernet connector. So I could use my lap top to print through WiFi if it's switched on, or via the Ethernet cable when switched off. The only problem I occasionally have is if the internet goes down for any reason, I find my WiFi connection to the printer does not establish itself again unless the printer is rebooted.

It has been a busy but frustrating week. We should have picked up the caravan from its service on Friday, but dealer rang with some bad news. We had complained that the damper on the tow hitch was not working properly ( we had a completely new hitch/drawbar front end fitted last year due to cracking in the bit bolted to the A frame) , so after the ordinary service they had road tested it and found there was indeed a problem....the damper is broken. Quite possibly has never been right.
We have requested replacement under warrranty, but it is about 2 weeks over a year since it was fitted, although we did complain to them about it last October. So now waiting to hear who is going to have to pay for fixing things. No idea when we will get the van back, and we are due off on our first trip in just over a month.
Earlier in the week I had shampooed the stair carpet for DD, but a cupboard door had rubbed on the carpet, sucked up the damp and the door surface was damaged, damage came too far up to be planed off. Should have shortened that door before now.
She had a door she wanted to swap for a bifold, so today I took that door and fitted it instead of the damaged one. DD and OH went off to Stirling to find a suitable matching bifold, so I have spent all afternoon trying to make it fit the space. It is the correct size, but somehow it does not fit very well. Will return tomorrow or Monday to plane off the edges so it fits better.
Sometimes the supposedly easy tasks turn out to be the most difficult!
Tomorrow we are visiting DS and family, so the door may well have to wait till Monday.

Hope you get you damper situation sorted to your satisfaction Kj.
All you guys and girls out in their vans take care. We have very strong Easterly winds and gosh it’s cold. Spent a little while in the garden looking at the stars, only managed 15 minutes before returning to the warmth of he log burner🔥

Good to read all those out and about are having a good time.
Safe trip to those about to travel.
KjellNN sorry to read about the van, hope you can get it sorted soon.
Managed nit to spend too much at the market this morning, although did buy some yummy lemon, & some double choc biscuits.
Met up with son and his girlfriend for lunch, enjoyed hearing and seeing photos of all their recent holiday in Snowdonia. Got back in time to watch the rugby, chilling tonight, too cold to venture out. 😉

Just catching up on yesterday's postings.
Sorry to hear about the reop, OP hope that it won't infringe on your holiday plans.
Glad that you got to see the Chippendale furniture and his statue, WN.
After a hard frost yesterday we had less this last night and it soon went as the sun was out for most of the day. Had a bracing walk in Scremerston Beach for getting on for a couple of hours. Flyte ran for nearly all of the time so now's resting quietly beside OH. The wind was quite cold and increased in force, fortunately we were walking with it at our backs by then, although it's much calmer on site.

Pretty much the same here Triky, clouds flying in from the East, still minus 2 here but bright. Don't think I will be going far today.
All this recent talk of central heating has put the mokka's on our system and the time clock has gone 'west'. Get a new one fitted tomorrow. In 39 years it will be the second new one and the only thing thats broken. Still the heating is still working so not too much of a problems.

I bought a Cannon Pixma bought 10 years ago and recently replaced. I could not get it to work via wifi and so had to use a USB to my computer. Fliss could then access it on the network. Now here is the strange part. About 4 or 5 years ago I had I had the laptop that I was using repaired - two new fans installed. I also reloaded the operating system and cleaned up files etc. When I reinstalled the system I accidentally forgot to connect the printer USB. I only realised a couple of years later and it had all worked fine - go figure!
Sorry about your 'van problems K
