Hi all, is it me ,or, am I the only person who books for more than one outfit on a site.. Problem being trying to book online, haven't found anywhere to "multi book" . EG, I want to book 3 caravans and a motorhome onto Markinch Site in Fife. Need to have 4 pitches together, so need to speak to warden, only problem ,site closed till March 16th, taking online bookings but no provision for a "multi " book... With try in March , but might find site booked ? Hope you understand what I'm trying to say... JIM

The online booking only allows one member to book one pitch. As far as I am aware online booking is available only to members?

If all are members then need to book individually online. If non members than I suggest you/they phone main CC bookings.

No facility to reserve adjacent pitches.

A good question but as far as I know you can only book your own outfit onto a site and there is no multi-book option (again as far as I know). Your friends will have to book themselves in. Also I don't think you can reserve pitches either. Try and ring head office.

You are asking a lot, GG. Your membership entitles you to book one pitch at a time. That is fair to all members.

As Easy said, reserving adjacent pitches is not a given. You can ask the warden closer to the time but there are no guarantees. It’s first come, first served on club sites which is, again, fair to everyone. All members are equal and it could be said that you are asking for special treatment. You might get it but it’s not a right.

We have booked 2 pitches but only direct with the site and giving our friends name and membership number. We were made aware that adjacent pitches could not be guaranteed, but we already knew that.

well as you gave both membership numbers I would regard that as two separate bookings though.

Indeed it is two separate bookings, but still no guarantee of adjacent pitches.

Mind you have been lucky under similar circumstances where daughter managed to pitch up alongside some two hours or so after my arrival.

Depends on how busy the site is, I suppose.

Sorry but if I turned up on site and found that the empty pitch that I quite fancied putting my outfit on had been reserved just for you and your mates then I would be miffed and be sending a missive off to EG.

Part of the joy of the club is that we are all treated as equals and unless you have a disability that requires special consideration you just have to take pot luck, just like the rest of us.

Hi , Thanks for all your opinions, we are all members of club, we normally book onto C.L.'s (hard with 5 of you.) If I booked on to site I wouldn't expect to have a special pitch, only trying to get us together... Thanks once again for your replies... JIM..

Agree with what has been said, there is no facility to request adjacent pitches and I would expect the warden to say you will just have to choose from what is available when you arrive.

Even when a disabled person requests a pitch near the facilities, there are no guarantees it will happen, not all sites have permanently marked "disabled pitches".  On the day, the warden will mark the pitch  or pitches considered nearest, that is as good as it gets.

The best way to get near or next to each other is to arrange to all arrive together, another possible way is for the first to arrive to choose a pitch in the area furthest from the facilities, or an area where there are several vacant pitches, and hope for the best.

What will not be appreciated by the warden, or other members, is for the first arrival to try to "reserve" pitches using a vehicle or some outside furniture!

It’ll be pot luck whether you can be grouped together and each member will need to book his own pitch.

CLs, of course, are a different matter and it’s down to the site owner how he organises his bookings.

    Have a good time.
