    I'm sitting out in the awning at the moment with blue sky and sunshine visible through the front window but there are still some wind gusts and it's cold! My wife's busy cooking lunch. it smells good! Mexican inspired pork stir fry.

    Thankfully, I got off work on time last night at 8 p.m. So I only did three hours which was a lot easier. I'm glad that the rota has given me three consecutive days off though! Also our moving day on Thursday is a day off too!

    No problem parking at our solicitor or architect, so living here does have some benefits.🅿️

    After not a good start to the year, finally, yippee and again yippee, going to get our first trip away in the van on Thursday, going to our favourite 🆑 and walking/bird watching area🦅

    MM,

    Can I ask what make/model caravan you have. I just can't get my head round living in one full time. My 24ft Elddis is 4 berth fixed bed with end washroom and walk in shower. Its great for our trips but I could never live it all the time. Even if we had a large TA I couldn't envisage living in it. smile

    Perhaps those so concerned with MM's lifestyle and finances could set up a 'Crowdfunding' project, to help alleviate the misery you all tell him he's living.cool

    Seems to me he's quite happy with life, unlike the upset it causes others on here smile

    You would need to be very tidy and carry minimal possessions I reckon, though also having a large awning helps as it doubles the space.

    Not bad in summer, but winter would not be so nice when there is water to be fetched and waste to dispose of regardless of the weather.

    We generally do one long tour each year, longest we have been away was 4 months, but we were visiting family in Norway so not using the caravan all the time.

    Longest just using the van was 3 months, I was glad to get home to a bit more space, just our kitchen on its own is bigger than our caravan.

    cool Yes ,,just back from washing the Concorde,not bad for a big motor-home  two hours !!

    Weather is going to change today though ,,according to the forecast from Sheerness RNLI.  strong Westerly winds up to gale force 9 at times,,sea rough to moderate.Worst in the North !!Watch out !!surprised.

    Enjoying  a  Sunday  afternoon  watching Snow / Sleet / Rain  hammering  down  onto  a  cold,  soggy  South  Cheshire  town.  Plus  a  few  moments  on  here,  but  in  the  main  I'm  watching  France 'n  Scotland  proving  how  daft  grown  men  can  be,  playing  games  out  there  in  the  cold  !!

    Same here, but did have lunch out and there's now some sunshine around. Enjoy the rest of the match, it looks icy cold at Murrayfield.

    We’ve had a wonderful weekend with all our offspring being at home. We see our son and family every day as they live next door, but our other son and daughter live farther south, so it’s a special time when we’re all together. And the cousins love it.

    We had  a wonderful meal last night and we all dressed up. It seems that waistcoats are “in”. 

    As a birthday treat our 14 year old grandson got up to milk at 5 this morning so Henry could have a sleep in. He usually just helps at afternoon milking. 

    We had a grand present opening session and squashed round the table for lunch. It just holds 14, so it’s OK for the moment. Then it was time to cut the cake. An amazing masterpiece (not made by me!).

    And now it’s back to normal. Henry is outside feeding stock before milking, and I’m having a few quiet moments before washing up.

    An amazing cake Goldie.

    Put dinner in the slow cooker and went for a walk amongst the pine trees. A few snow showers about but we managed to miss them and the tall pines kept the cool wind off, which we could here whistling through the tops. Even the Gruffalo thought it was cold😀

    Sounds like you had a great celebration Goldie.  Must be proud of your grandson being able to responsibility on the fam.

    More bad news from BIL family, he is recovering from cancer and a hip replacement and he now finds out one of his daughters, my niece, is also suffering with cancer so my love and prays go out to her and her young family.

    Sunny here earlier, but very cold again, we even had a few flakes of snow this morning.

    Another visit from DD, but not such a happy occasion this time.  Her car was vandalised last night while parked outside her sister in law's house while they were all out for dinner.  Driver's door electric and heated mirror broken off and left dangling, mindless vandalism.

    Cannot be repaired as it is the bit that holds it onto the car that is broken, but rest is OK, even the electrics still work.  So she has ordered a second hand one from an e Bay seller which I will get to fit.

    Meantime, as she has been given a space in her office car park for her last few weeks, she needs a roadworthy car, so hers is now in our driveway and our Smart is off to her place.

     That  sounds  like  a  great  family  gathering,  Goldie,  and  that  cake  looks  fabulous  !!

    Just  one  Question  tho'  -- who  had  the  bigger  treat ? Henry  for  his  lie-in  or  the  Grandson  for  being  trusted  so  much ?  It  would  have  made  his  w/end  even  better  .

    Now booked sites from February to June, so making up for lost time. 🌞. Going spend some of Easter at the fabulous Burnham Wick Farm.

    Lovely sunny day here chilly but blue skies so managed another couple of hours in the garden, back garden now as the front was finished yesterday.

    We seem to have been adopted by next doors young cat, she comes in and makes herself at home, I think she is just escaping from the young children they have and a couple of old foggies are less trouble laughing

    Went to see Mum this morning, she was in a chatty mood so had a pleasant visit.

    Now warming up inside after the gardening, the wind started and it got very chilly, lovely sky at the moment all pink and grey's so tomorrow might be another nice day.

    Went to see the 'Riverside Lights' last night, its all along the Tay, The Chinese Dragon was there and lots of other attractions, all free and very well attended.

    It's a Bailey Unicorn Cartagena 2015 model, Milothedog, 7.92 metres length, twin axle. I think the new Elddis are 8 ft. width which would give more living space.

    Malcolm I have often fancied living full time in our LV but it wouldn't be in the UK I'm afraid. I much prefer the outdoor life being somewhere warm. Spain and Portugal for the winter would be nice (but its not always hot) then France/Germany/Austria etc in the hotter months. 

    We have often talked about it but I think its something we should have done as soon as we retired. I wouldn't have given up the house though.

    We have had a lovely day today when we got up it was snowing so after a quick breakfast we took a drivw to Bo'ness on Windermere the drive was nice with the hills covered in snow the Lakes really are lovely at this time of year and not too busy. After a walk around Bo'ness we had a nice lunch in The Stag Hotel. We had planned to hire a motor boat but decided against it due to the snow. Now back at the Cvan having a coffee watching Endeavour later on tonight looking forward to that.
