Pitch Exchanges
Has anybody in the Club ever heard of any exchange scheme for motorhome or caravan pitches at home? We live in East Lothian and our motorhome is set up with with hook up and a an external water supply. We have plenty of space to accommodate an extra van or motorhome and we are are in easy reach of Edinburgh city centre. We would love to find a handy pitch for visiting out son in Aberdeen but there is very little available nearby. Is there any forum where we might be able to find a partner who wants to visit Edinburgh/East Lothian in exchange for visits to Aberdeen? Does anyone think there is demand for similar sorts of exchanges?

Interesting! We have used our touring outfits to stay with family, and once stayed at farm where we kept our horse so we could all have a good party without risk of having to drive home.
I suppose it might depend on how accommodating neighbours are, if you live close to others. Not sure what the legal issues might be, if any.

If you are proposing a CL-to-CL pitch exchange to save fuel costs whilst towing or driving a large motorhome, please be aware of the Club rules that mean:
- vans must not be left unoccupied overnight
- CLs are for Club members only.
If you work within those rules, the following website might be of interest, which allows you to rent-out your caravan or motorhome and provides insurance to do so:

If you are proposing that people offer single pitches in their own gardens, rather than on a CL, I respectfully suggest that discussion is posted outside the CL section of Club Together.Ian Kelly
