At various times in 2017 I was asking advice about a water ingress problem in our little Rapido caravan. It followed a poorly done rushed job on replacing a de-laminated window, by our dealer under warranty. (And was enough to persuade us, warranty or not, never to let it near his engineer again). It was finally sorted last Autumn by our own local engineer.

 I found myself close by the storage place this morning, so after all that snow & rain we've had, popped in to check it. The feeling of relief on finding that it's still bone dry inside was enormous and most welcome!

The advice here helped, I'm sure. So I'm just sharing some pleasure at a job seemingly well done smile.

    Great to hear some good news, and to prove there are some good workmen out there who are proud to do a proper job!  

    Keep your local engineer's details handy Hedgehurst and if others are looking for recommendations be sure to pass them on!  

    My son (a roofer) gets all his jobs by 'word of mouth' and doesn't have to advertise at all - personal recommendation is invaluable to people who work with their hands.

    Well done Hedgehurst, the " local " engineer will be pleased to know you pass on his details. I too own a small business and in twenty years have not advertised so do know the importance of leaving a client happy in what we've done.

    I'll happily pass our man's details on if anyone's looking in the Northampton area.... though he's always saying he's up to his eyes in work already, as there's a lack of decent approved travelling engineers round here.
    We're booked in for our pre-season service late next month, so I hope I'll still be as happy after that!

    One of the main reasons we have gone back to the same dealer is not because of the sales staff or the "good" deals we get when trading in but our confidence in the engineer and the lad he is training. He takes the time the time to explain things, manages to find ways of doing things that supposedly can't be done and always leaves the van in a clean state after service. We've told the owner that if the engineer leaves we follow him out of the door ( to wherever he goes)
