Traditionally the phrase, once in a blue moon has come to mean "rarely" or "once in a lifetime". Some societies have traditions at this time of using this as a bit of an impetus, or excuse, just to get round to 'doing' or 'acquiring' something they have always really 'wished' for.
So what would you wish to do if at all possible? Your next 'excuse' will come on January 31st 2018, the next Blue Moon, so start planning now.

Aston Martin Vanquish for me. At a mere £205,000.

Have driven a few laps in a DB9 and it's great pretending to be a James Bond.

Auto route to the Provence with the gendarmerie turning a blind eye would be magic.😀

My Blue Moon wish would be for our children to be healthy enough, and comfortably off enough to give all our grandchildren a happy life, without having to worry unduly about money (but without having millions to squander).  For our grandchildren to grow up knowing the value of money, and to appreciate the hard work of their parents (and grandparents) in making their world possible, and to continue to work hard, value people, be kind to others, including those who might not be as fortunate as they are, and to enjoy their lives.

From '89 5 new UK 'vans, in 2001 decided to go German 5 x T.E.C. 1 x Geist, 1 x Hymer Nova, thought having returned to UK in 2014 we'd try a UK 'van, 1 x Coachman V.I.P. hideously overpriced/overrated was not safe on the road and falling to pieces ( that lasted 3 mths ) exchanged for a ( any ) Hymer a 2014  LuxusLine now purchased a 2017 Hymer Nova 580 GL and unfortunately have to submit it's been the most troublesome caravan we've ever owned with faults that have meant it being back ( and is at the moment ) at a dealers four times since last July !!

    Happy caravanning.

Your merc is not the question ,but as all LV manufacturers are trying to cater for a market where tow vehicles are getting lighter and lighter, with smaller but more"power full?"engines, they are trying to lighten their vehicles, and no matter what the hype, internal fixtures are not as strong as in the past,I have seen and heard from the German owners of a later built Hymer motor caravan,so I am sure they are not alone, with later builds and problems,

It is the "never had that problem"that is all hype from the "marketing depts"hoping what is a real problem ,can be "hidden"

I do not remember Malc M mentioning any build problems with his UK van it has always been bought in equipment "from overthere"that has been defective, we have now two faults with ours both  "over there" made one window to replace and also a blind to replace ,being done in April with the annual service

What a lovely post Valda and I echo your thoughts 100%, a shame that others have completely overlooked it and used the thread for the usual comments.

To get what we paid for in the first place.

A decent quality Lv we could be proud of, without problems .

Well, I've gone and done it! I've only bought myself that pair of Swarovski binoculars I've always wanted! Funny thing today is I don't feel frivolous or guilty in the slightest as I normally would. I guess it's that Blue Moon effect. 🔵👍
