Boff, do you have to select which fuel has priority on the 3020?

KjellNnYou don’t have to prioritise gas or electric. The options are, Electric only at 1,2 or 3kW, Gas only or if you set the priority you can select the fuel you want to be primary.  So ours is normally set, to electricity 2kW as the first priority and gas second.   As 70% time we don’t have ehu it simply uses the gas despite electricity being the selected preferred option.

Time before last we were on ehu so I decided to see electric only made a difference compared to both fuels, it did in my opinion to the initial heat up time from cold.  Not really to the standard running.  I forgot that I had done this so I couldn’t understand at new year why after running for an hour the van temp had gone from 4C to 7C.  Put the gas on and all good.

For me the 3020 controller is intuitive and easy to use, this was once I had got my head arround the fact that default setting is on and the day and night settings are off.

I have switched my Alde on today to air the caravan as advised. Inside it was 2 degrees, after one hour it is now 11 degrees. On 2kw electric only as feeding off my garage supply. Will check again at 2pm. Using the free power from the solar panels while the sun lasts!
