I have stayed on sites were you are not allowed to use awning heaters even though you have paid for EHU, so dread to think what they would be like if you plug your EV in to charge.

But why would anyone want to, cariadon, especially if it's thought, like David has pointed out, that some of my ramblings are mundane? There's nothing untoward about my life that anyone would want to investigate, is there?  After all, it's not as if I'm into some kind of tax avoidance scheme! Especially as I'm employed by a company that does everything by the book and tax is deducted at source through PAYE.

I hope you remember to keep pencil sharpeners for sale as well, HD! Otherwise the pencils you sell might never get a point to them!

That's a bit unusual, Metheven. He will need to get used to working out the correct change, otherwise he'll be out of pocket! It's part of the job!

All the existing drivers at Lancing Pizza Hut are fluent in English and have British accents too!

Maybe he was thanking you for tipping him off about the change being wrong, tip in the sense of advice rather than money tip, as you would have saved him some loss!

That's one of the reasons why I prefer to use club sites rather than commercial ones. It's usually a better and fairer deal through the club! I remember staying on an affiliated site last year, namely North Ledaig near Oban on the west coast of Scotland. They deviated from the club norm by providing 10 amp EHU instead of 16 amp!

Perhaps affiliated sites should conform to the clubs standards otherwise not be added to the club network.

Yes ttda, but there are many other posters on here that have divulged personal information about their finances and family.

We know a lot about Huskydog's retail pet shop and what he sells in there.

We know a lot about KjellNN, how much pension he receives, how much council tax he has to pay, that he built his own house years ago. We know about his wife, daughter and his grandchild. We know he originally came from Norway but has been settled in Scotland for many years and lives somewhere near Glasgow.

I doubt that HMRC would want to investigate any personal information that people choose to discuss on here, provided everything is above board and taxes due are accordingly paid, which they are in my case. I'm not doing anything wrong, so I've got nothing to hide. The life I live is all above board and within the law! So I'm not afraid to discuss it and listen to other people's views and comments.

It was our village Pizza outlet Malc, we usually have local lads delivering but this was the first time seeing him. Whichever way he took it, he was not out of pocket.

Well affiliated sites are not club sites and do not necessarily follow the 'club norm'. They form a useful part of the network. Some do only have 10amp perhaps. At some locations sites are hard pushed to provide more. Not a problem.

It might be better to do a card payment, Metheven, either online or on the phone. Then you won't have to stand at the door in the cold fiddling about with change and the chance that your food is getting cold whilst this delay is going on! I find my job is much easier and quicker when the shop takes the payment from the customer by card. Fiddling about with change at the door takes time and slows down the delivery service.

It can be a problem and inconvenience, EasyT. North Ledaig affiliated site not only had 10 amp EHU but there was also the problem that if the bollard tripped, you couldn't flick a switch to reset it yourself. You had to ask the warden to do it and wait with no electricity until he bacame available. If it happened at night you would be without power until next morning.

Just can't imagine paying to have a pizza delivered when I can get one from the freezer and pop it in the oven, then have a scoop while waiting.laughing

As I said Malc, it is the village Pizza outlet and for ours card payment is not an option. Cost is given to you over the phone and the delivery person only accepts cash, worth using as the food quality is way above the bigger concerns I have tried.

Well, like many, I use a 10 amp site from time to time. If on a non CC site I usually enquire what amperage they provide. If it is 10 amp my heating is put on 1kw. No problem

I think the food quality is likely to be much better than buying a frozen pizza from the supermarket even if you use brand names like Pizza Hut because the food is freshly prepared on the premises, according to order and cooked using professional ovens.

It might not be enough in winter in freezing conditions, especially in a large caravan with a lot of space to heat, EasyT!

I doubt that you were at North Ledaig in mid winter Malc. smile

My outfits over the last 12 years have generally been around 5.4m internal 7m shipping and so, yes, shorter than yours. I know that when I had blown air up until 6 years ago I found it difficult to regulate and would run on 1kw overnight less I wake up in a sweat in mid December. When I had a problem with the fluid mix on the previous Alde I had to use 1kw during our two week December break as the system was kettling on 2kw. Tose were temperatures down to freezing. If it had been -14C as on one winter then I would doubtless have needed to use 2 kw and boiled water for a brew on gas. Also knock it down to 1 kw at meal times but then cooking would have replaced the lost heat.

Sometimes we order a takeaway pizza, sometimes we cook a bought pizza, sometimes we make our own from scratch.

Also on the EHU point, we sometimes use sites with only a 10 amp supply because the site is where we want to be, like many we also have gas on board and are not afraid of using it if we need to, even in winter ..... wink

I don't believe we are that unusual. innocent

Certainly you are not unusual, we use 6 amp sites and don't have a problem with tripping the electric even in winter. However unlike Malc we don't heat an awning, or have the heating on 3 kw or aircon or an oven in the awning.

What amuses me is that if the electric goes off, for what ever reason, he seems to panic, Malc just for information your fridge freezer will be fine for up to 24hrs in all but the hottest of weather, even if you don't want to put it onto gas. When you get your EV this might be an option overnight during the winter, turn the fridge off and plug in the EV. In the morning unplug the EV and switch the fridge back on, easy peasey wink

    Pizza? what are they surprisedlaughing

Gas is great stuff for heating and cooking with, we frequently use gas in the caravan.  Lowest amp site we have used was a 4 amp Dutch Caravan Club one, enough to run the charger, lights and fridge.

We survived fine, that was in May a few years back.

Malcolm, the Club cannot dictate to an AS regarding rules or how much electricity they provide, they are independant businessses.

The reason a bollard switch trips, because of too many appliances in use or a faulty appliance. Many people can survive on 10 amps, cookers in caravans are gas, if you want to use your own electric cooker then you need to make sure you have switched everything else off, simples. Otherwise you will find yourself in the dark.
