    Apologies for returning again to MM's mathematics but I need to see if anyone can find fault with my own calculations;

MM has previously stated on one of the 3 threads currently on the go:

    1) Pizza delivery income less than state pension. Malcs state pension is probably £122/wk = £528/month

    2) Old Smart leasing at £221/ month, fuel £225 /month = total £436/ month

Difference between the two  = £92/month

If you then take into account  the following:

deposits/balloon payments/Business insurance/car services/tyres/ repairs etc etc then delivering pizzas definitely falls into the category of pointless

My "pointless" exercise of the day was to take my other car from its nice warm garage and clean and polish it only for it to Pee down before I could put it away againfrown

My state pension is £577.12 and it's paid four weekly, not monthly, so it works out to more per month. That works out to £144.28 per week or £625.21 per month.

My Pizza Hut earnings vary according to how many hours I'm given on the rota. Last four weeks, gross earnings were about £550 but net earnings after income tax were about £485. This is also paid four weekly, not monthly. Fuel allowance and tips add to this and are paid to me daily in cash.

Yes, I agree that there are some who say that they wouldn't get out of bed for this kind of wage. However, on the whole, I think I'm better off as a result of this work because the money adds to other income from 3 pensions. So perhaps not so pointless in my circumstances.

You are the only one who knows if your finances add up, and that it meets your needs. As long it does not give you sleepless nights and the reason for you late night early morning postings then that's ok.

I made a  promise to myself that I would save and invest wisely whilst young so that should I reach 55 and work kept me awake at night I would give up, so I did. May not be rich, but I sleep well at night.

Unfortunately, my income was never high enough to afford to save and invest when I was younger! I'm better off today because of no longer having a mortgage or rent to pay!

I wake up in the night because I'm on holiday and like to have a change from my normal routine so instead of going to work at 6 p.m. I go to bed and have had 8 hours sleep by 2 a.m.

I no longer have a mortgage, house is ours, with the security of knowing that should anything happen we have the house to sell, which is worth £450,000 plus.

Don't you pay rent for the house, plus pitch fees, which can be classes as rent?

Storm Eleanor is raging outside as I type this. I can hear the wind howling. Pointless to be outside in such weather, so I'm staying inside the caravan for the time being, hoping that it will ease by the morning!

Sadly the stylus stays put on my one and It's the record that rotates.

Perhaps that's why the sound isn't so great!

Just looking in, I'm still trying to throw of this flu type virus, so many people round here have it too so we're in the same boat. I know shopping can be pointless but I'll be glad to see a shop soon! wink

We had a dose early December brue, not easy to shake off.

Really thick frost outside this morning, almost looks like snow. Too cold to do anything in garden, plants need to keep warm under their blanket of leaves. Today is our only free day this week, got an appointment for something or someone all other days........deep joy. Still, best at this time of year, leave the warmer months free

I could clean the MH out I suppose.........

The MH didn't get cleaned out, too cold outdoors. I have had a pointless afternoon trying to find some obscure jewellery findings, with no luck. I have scoured the online world, to no avail....frown

The sight of multi million pound footballers plugging it out on a muddy pitch other than the cosseted PL always lifts the spirits! laughing We had the privilege of watching Ronaldo (the Portuguese one) shivering in a snow storm one match we went to a few years ago! They lost as well!laughing

On a previous occasion in the SW the big team wouldn't field their best players locally and had to have a replay so this will be fun...laughing

Beggars can't be choosers at a time of the year when many sites within easier commuting distance are closed either because it's off season or because of the weather, in the case of Lancing Fruit Farm.
