At the moment we're sitting in the Mitsubishi service centre whilst they do the recall job on the airbag. They said it will take all day because they have to remove the dashboard etc. So we're in for a long wait as we have no car to go away in.

It's too long a wait for her because of my spending two hours extra on the commute. She used to spend 3 to 4 hours alone on Lancing Fruit Farm. Now it's 5 to 6  hours!

When our car is in for service they gives us a courtesy car, ask if you can have one after all it's  recall job. Be forceful and demand one, it's not as if your asking for something for free.

That's better than the Shogun that used to do 13 miles to the gallon in urban usage. The Smart does double the mileage of the Shogun so there is some cost saving but not enough to make it viable!

As it is probably a manufacturers recall to check air bags I doubt that there is much likelihood of a courtesy car paid for by the dealer. There has been recalls on some Toyota and Nissan cars over the last couple of years for air bags.

We took X-Trail in to be checked. It was quite handy as the P&R is right across from the dealership that we chose and they provided free tickets for us to pop into Chester whilst they did the checks.

I hope you feel better today JVB and that you have a safe journey.  I tried to arrange a sunny day here for you but unfortunately the weather wouldn't play ball.

Sorry to hear that your cough is still hacking OP. Stay in the warm.

I am trying very hard to get a word in edgeways here but it is proving difficult.yell

Happy new year to you as well!

Tesco in sealand road had loads of GF Christmas puds, mince pies etc on their shelf of shame last week. Not quite at the 10p level but not bad. I've got a freezer full of GF bread which was all marked down to 15p per loaf. Better than the £2.90 it usually is. surprised

Katie's isn't fancy and the food is hearty rather than elegant. Makes a refreshing change for Chester though. Getting a reasonably priced meal can be a challenge

How this dog passes his time when there is snow on the ground and the sheep are all in!

Can't show the video but worth watching here: https://www.facebook.com/FarmersGuardian/videos/10156097275074306/

They do provide a courtesy car if it's pre-arranged with them but they also ask for a £500 deposit.

Probably best to just relax here and wait. I could do with the break from driving! They provide free tea, coffee and soup, tv, heating and toilets and I feel so tired I can't be bothered to go out anywhere anyway!

GF food is improving all the time. I don't have fond memories of the old prescription bread and flour which is probably why I've avoided that sort of food for years.

Oh don't get me going on the banking crisis frown I've just ended a speech debating people and Forums. cool

Capitalism, the economic arm of the individualism and materialism ideologies that keep us framed in a narrow bandwidth of consciousness, prevents us from seeing that we’re all connected.innocent

We often find gf foods reduced in price in Tesco but I have to admit, I'm not keen on them, especially the gf bread.

The Toyota one on the Yaris airbag did not take long. Other half sat and read book for an hour and had a cup of coffee, while they did it. All day seems excessive. I hate to think of the labour costs, if it wasn't a recall.

Bright and frosty here. Still sub zero in the shade. Off for a swim shortly. Nice indoor heated pool though. The site of all those folk throwing themselves into cold water on Boxing Day makes me fear for their sanity. Certainly not for me.

A belated Happy Christmas to anyone I tried to send a Marie Curie ecard to - they've just been in touch to say that due to technical problems, no cards were sent in the run up to the big day, but they'll send them now.

And I thought Royal Mail were bad! Still, better late than never! wink
