We've stayed at the Orchards and didn't like it either, although some friends of ours go every year?

Stayed at Southlands a couple of times now. Last year we had an entire area all to ourselves, although that was the end of April, it was extremely quiet at that time of year. Nice site.

Which ferry company are you using?

Definitely not a wind-up!  Personally Malc, I don't really care what you do, it was just an innocent question following on from what I have been told you said in the Wardens' Office 'Do' in Baltic Wharf!

Nice walk to the beach but had to cut it short as Mrs one has to take her cub group to the Pantomime.  I've popped in a couple of photo's, one is of Gorleston on Sea beach the other of a Turnstone, such busy little birds, very endearing:

You'll like it, I'm sure although the new serviced pitch area is a bit exposed the sheltered hedged area's are our preferred choice.

It's handy for the Garlic Farm too wink

I'll be getting ready for my one hour commute to work soon. Yesterdays work plus the commute back last night has used nearly half a tank of fuel, so I'll have to re-fuel at the Shoreham Tesco before starting work this evening. I received £4.80 from work in fuel allowance yesterday for 6 deliveries, yet re-fuelling will probably cost me well over £12.00. That's why I need the Smart Electric. If I continue using unleaded petrol, I'll be working for nothing! However, It won't help if I have to pay extra for the electric to charge it. It's all very well to have overdraft and credit facilities but it's not a bottomless pit. Eventually the bank will call a halt taking the view that enough is enough! That is why I needed to take action to save fuel costs by going electric but that doesn't mean I should pay extra for EHU.

returning via Thaxters garden centre cafe for lunch

An excellent choice. We've always found Thaxters to be a wonderful stop when in the area.

When visiting any garden or garden centre, we usually take a picnic lunch with us to save cost!

So when you have your smart electric you will no longer be asking your "boss" for fuel allowance then, or wil you be giving it 50/50 to the dealer and the club as they will be the suppliers of your fuel in the future, especially us the members,   who all through our use of club sites already subsidise your very cheap living accommodation, otherwise it makes a very good case to put meters on seasonal pitches, to partly compensate

I have finally seen the light. Literally.

I have been asking the managers of the woodland behind our house to chop some trees down that are, IMO, becoming dangerous and also growing too tall.  Over 2 and a half years later they have finally gotten around to doing it. They've coppiced 8 Sycamores. Shame we don't have a log burner.

Tree down today, all chopped up, and transported to the recycling centre. Most of outside lights dismantled, however have left those on the bushes until tomorrow, in the hope they might be a bit drier. Discovered why a new set of lights I bought for the indoor tree had stopped working. A clean cut in the wire. I have suspicions the OH may have done it when cutting a broken branch 🤔. Although is denying any involvement.😇 In any event I won't be able to return them for a refund.☹️

What a contrast today has been compared to the last week! Woke up to a very thick frost, dry, gorgeous blue sky and NO WIND! (Hooray!)

Walked the coastal path up along past Holywell Bay which was virtually deserted. Fans of Poldark will recognise this scene. smile

Back after a lovely walk on the beach. Decided to go to Pendine the closest, and the longest, 10 miles. There was a few more brave souls about. It was cold but sunny and a hot chocolate drink was welcomed once back in the car. OH stayed in he warmth, bit to soon after the chest infection to be in the cold.

What a great photo moulesy.cool After a damp and dreary start the weather picked up and we had a couple of hours of bright blue sky but it has just spoiled itself and it is now raining again.  We are promised a bright, clear and cold day tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Weather cheered up a bit here too, even a bit of sunshine ☺ didn't get a "duvet" day in the end, walked into town and had a mooch round the shops. Quick trip to Aldi, back home and  then curled up on the sofa with a book.☺

Glad that everyone enjoyed their walks today,  nice to see the pics.☺

Dinner is cooking,  is it too early for a glass of wine?😕

I've arrived in Lancing 20 minutes early after filling up fuel at the Shoreham Tesco Extra at a cost of £21.60. Yet I received £4.60 fuel allowance yesterday from work thereby making a loss £17.00 on yesterdays shift which has to be paid out of my wages thereby reducing my pay to below the minimum wage of £7.50 an hour! That is why I need to switch to an Electric Car with no additional charge for plugging in.

My wife is now doing the shopping at Tesco Extra where I dropped her off on the way to filling up fuel. I'll collect her from there when I finish my shift at 22:00 and then we can both return to our caravan at Redhill.

It's been freezing cold here today, had a couple of hours when it warmed up a bit so I took the dog out across the fields but could feel the "bite" from the cold. Cornwall is lovely in the winter on a good day!

    Enjoyed Oneputt's photo too.

Feeling a bit better today but energy sap taking over again.

I removed a post earlier as I felt it was a bit pointless so second attempt. wink
