After struggling and being aided by many fellow campers, we pushed our caravan onto a small Italian pitch after driving up a narrow site avenue in 2016.

So 2017 started in March having had a motor mover fitted, eleven weeks of pitching at various sites in various countries was made easy. Most were done by reversing as normal with the car, some were by motormover front in or sideways on, and the remainder because access to the pitch was not possible without constant forward/reversing.

Best accessory to date, closely followed by an additional 2 gang 13 amp socket I installed with two inbuilt USB sockets.

Best I bought in 2017 was "Lock n Level" made fitting the Alco wheel lock and levelling the Caravan so easy.

Bought Mrs WN a brand new knee pad so she could rest her knee on it whilst sorting out the steadies. If I hadn't then I might have to do them myself. She was as delighted with it as she was last year when I finally got around to buying the handle to go on the aquaroll.smile

Two new folding chairs in an end of season sale. Didn't really need them but I fancied a change to a more robust type. Anyone want a couple of light weight chairs, going cheap. laughing

I had to stop my OH buying me a ladder to clean the van roof...it was a well meant thought but I accepted a replacement set of rubber gloves instead, one can never have too many...laughing

After buying a load of stuff for the switch from Caravan to Motorhome in 2016 we spent most of 2017 getting rid of it. In the “not needed” category was a picnic table (we now use the Motorhome one) and water carrier. We bought new camper chairs (the type that fold into a bag) from John Lewis and took them back at the end of the season as the canvas had split. Gone back to using the 15 years old ones.

On the plus side, the lightweight Weber BBQ with gas canister has proved successful (although I would love to be able to accommodate my Weber Baby Q) and the two Quest picnic chairs were worth the money and replaced the 2016 Lafuma director chairs which were too uncomfortable.

After many years of struggling finding plants of wood to stop my legs from sinking into the grass i invested in some stabiliser pads and found they help really well with keeping the caravan level to.

A set of plastic worktop protector chopping sheet thingies from Lidl - only need two for under the wheel when fitting the locks, so two for house and two for caravan galley.
