Duly reported as requested. Have also mentioned the domination over days on this thread.

I am not petty enough to report. Sorry, but Mrs T did not give birth to tell tales and so I am, therefore, congenitally unable to assist.

From my perspective brue, if I am sitting at the garage waiting for my car it seems pretty much to conform to the OP of what am I up to.

You're absolutely right, EasyT. It's not just petty but ridiculous to report that! All usage of electricity is limited to 16 amps and everyone has the right to use whatever they wish to within that limit. If more is used the system would trip, so the usage is automatically limited in that way. Thank you for your support, EasyT. Incidentally, I'm on a CL at the moment, not a club site and I haven't yet got delivery of the electric vehicle that is being condemned on here. If the government supports such a change then there's no reason why the club can't support it too, especially as it woukd make the environment cleaner and safer on club sites where children have to breathe the fumes of polluting vehicles!

I think if you read the poster that is in most club sites ,and probably somewhere on here if you care to look,it states that considerate use of the electricity supply, will enable the supply to cope, and that at times there will not be 16amp supply to all bollards as it can overload the site supplywink

I suppose it's always an option. Although anything more than fairly minor medical procedures would probably be beyond our budget.😂 Car check OK by the way, everything will wait until next service.👍

Just an observation and a reminded. This is the General Chat area so providing posts made here don't  contravene the Guidelines and T&C's or are not posts that should be made elsewhere on the forum, members are free to post what they like. Whilst I can understand the frustration about some subjects seeming to be all consuming to some extent the solution is within members own hands in so far if there were no responses to certain topics that subject would die a natural death? People are free to report issues to admin but it seems to me that even discussing the fact that they are, is making matters worse? If people feel that there is a genuine issue it might be better to e-mail the Community Manager direct with your concerns privately.

    David

Yes and remember that children running around and playing on club sites have to breathe the fumes from polluting diesel and petrol emissions. So I believe that changing to emission free electric is a good thing, NOT a bad thing! I just can't understand why anyone on here woukd want to condemn such a thing. It beggars belief!

That others on here should not condemn the changeover from petrol and diesel to electric, JVB66. That is a very valid point. Embrace this new technology that is going to make the world a better place to live in!

I think the point being made is use of electricity on sites being used for not what it is designed to be used for, not to make "statements" about saving the planet, ,and useing things that add more to pollution in their production than any "savings"made by them in useundecided

To be fair Steve, there are CT guidelines about not dominating discussions etc. I am not referring to anyone in particular but there is a reason for my mention of five days of car and car finance discussions and maybe a reason for a new discussion elsewhere where debate can freely develop without excluding others who may want to chat about other day to day things.

In my experience, David,  there have always been posters on here that seem to enjoy complaining and reporting to the community manager when there is no reason to do so. They will complain regardless of whether it is a mundane or an interesting topic of discussion.

Recently, Metheven and Bakers2 said in their posts about reporting to the community manager. In the two years I've been on this forum, I've seen this petty thing happening over and over again! I haven't got time to search back and quote every incident where this has happened in the past.

Nobody objects to electric vehicles Malcolm.

They've been pointing out potential pitfalls about your impulse buy of an EV that doesn't have the battery capacity to deliver the mileage you need. However the deposit has been paid so that should be the end of it

My next car will probably be electric because I do low daily mileage and can fit a fast charger at home. I won't change until I've had full benefit from my two year old car, battery technology has improved and there's reasonable choice in the market place.

I can't remember reporting because you are purchasing an EV vehicle, the reporting was to get the Clubs clarification on using a business vehicle used for the primary purpose of Pizza delivery's connecting to a sites EHU. Not a motorhome that may pull one (quite valid) but one primarily used for business and not the towcar that arrived with the caravan.

As far as I'm concerned you can buy what you like, but I as a member want clarification on my above point.

DK, I did Email the CM asking for clarification, guess what, no reply. But it may be still pending.

EasyT, I don't need your report fella, it's been done.

The CM has given clarification in the past on such a discussion. It was made clear, by the CM,  that it was perfectly permissible to go to work from a club site because when you return from work, you are at leisure because it is your time off from work. So you are welcome to use your caravan on the club site in this way.

You can't expect the CM to keep repeating the same thing over and over again when that subject has already been closed.

I'm presently using a CL not a club site. The commute to my workplace is less than a mile from here. The Smart car is parked here, the Shogun is parked at the house address in Worthing. That arrangement will continue when I use the club sites i.e. one car at the home address and the other car on the club site. The Shogun will be used to tow the caravan to the site and then returned to the house address to be swapped over for the Smart car which will then be used for our daily use such as shopping, travelling to work, carrying out deliveries for work and then returning back to the caravan for leisure use. This is perfectly acceptable to the club. There is no reason why it shouldn't be. That is all the clarification you need!

The vehicle that will be parked on site, will be an emission free electric car that will be beneficial to the health of everyone else that is using the site. So what's your problem?

A miserable murky day here. But I’m not venturing out. I’ve written the few cards that are to be posted. My family and close friends know that we don’t send, or hand, cards to people we see over Christmas. Saying “Happy Christmas” in person is better better than a mass produced piece of card.

Some friends are too far away so we’ve emailed a small montage of photos showing what we’ve been up to. I’m not really a fan of Christmas Letters with long paragraphs listing children’s acheivements etc.

Maybe I’m a just a miserable old Scrooge.

Rocky. As far as I am aware none of us are trying to control anyone but thankfully most of us have due regard for the guidelines in letting others have their say and not dominating posts. smile

Apologies all, sorry Goldie, I have interrupted the flow.

I didn't but I'm sure there were others that did, Metheven. Furthermore, I don't just use the car for business. It's a part-time job, evening job, that supplements my pension. I get a lot of time off to do shopping, days out visiting National Trust, English Heritage, HHA, WWT etc. So it's wrong to say that the Smart car is used primarily for business. When visitng the town centre in Worthing, the Shogun will not fit in the height limit of the multi-storey car parks but the Smart car will fit. So we use the Smart car primarily fit our personal use and part-time for business. You don't need the CM to clarify that. I've clarified it for you! The primary use for the Shogun is to tow the caravan because we can't do that with the Smart car.
