Bailey Pursuit 1 weight plate upgrade u-turn
Pursuit 1 weight plate upgrade u-turn
Has anyone had a weight plate upgrade on their PURSUIT 1 ? if so please see below e-mail as owners may have been overloading their axles by 50Kg which could have damaged the rubber elements located within the axle, i would advise you have the axle inspected by an ALKO approved repairer or demand a new one. I've provided photos via link to demonstrate the difference in tolerance between good and failed axle positions for the convenience of owners.

Our Unicorn Series 3 suffered a broken axle last year (see `Open letter to caravan manufacturers' discussion). I enquired about replating and it cannot be done for series three Unicorns or, preumably, for their Bailey siblings. Hence, we bought a Coachman VIP which can be replated.

Alko axle B1600-2 single axle weight 1450kg Fitted to all top heavy pursuit models 1 & 2 and probably fitted to other Bailey models too. You can always try climbing under one to verify!👍

I have a unicorn Valencia 3 and replated ( upgraded ) via the bailey website, without any fuss.
Coming upto three years old and no axle problems.
Hope I haven’t jinxed it now 😬

Is the chassis rating on the sticker found within the gas lockers?

Having looked at the coachman axles on entry level vans they offer higher max load rating tolerances than Baileys. Coachman also come with shock absorbers fitted as standard as Baileys do not. As for internals i have no major issues to date with the Baileys van👍
