No holding the MIL back. A brisk 3 mile walk around the Eye from Blakeney to The George in Cley (boy do they know how to charge London prices, good job it was only tea and coffee)
Managed to stay dry. Saw a lovely Barn Owl hunting on the Marshes along with wintering geese and a couple of Marsh Harriers.

Almost the same as ours 37800 miles and plenty of thread too.
Malcolm you should be asking what was actually wrong with them, was the thread worn down (doubt it on 11500 miles) had the structure of the tyre broken down, what year was the tyres, they could have been oldish ones when you bought the car, if it was OH he would be wanting answers and he would be checking them himself. He also wouldn't be paying that price either.

Busy day today as we started the lounge decorating, having to do it in bits so we can move the furniture around.
Washing machine been on the go as well, 2 loads done but they have had to go in the tumbler to get dried as its been very damp today, front path is now got a covering of ice so guess the temp has dropped again.
Cup of tea over so time to go and have a shower and wash off the paint splatters in my hair.

Rain has eased to drizzle here 😆. It didn't get light at all today. Mince pies cooked and frozen now.
Written another list 😂😂 this one for fresh shopping.
Tammygirl I have to admire you work ethic 😉
Malcolm did you find out why you needed new tyres after so few miles? My OH would be similar to Tammygirl's OH. He would not be happy, and not even been thinking about Tesco points, more likely the hole in his wallet 😲
Wherenext your MIL does very well, how long since her op?

Good grief!! Why did you not take the car home and shop around first, check best price?
A Mercedes dealer is the last place I would choose to get new tyres from.
Also, I doubt they were so worn as to be immediately illegal, so there was no huge rush.
You can buy decent tyres for the Smart for around £45 each for the smaller ones, plus £10-£15 for fitting, and the bigger ones are not that much more. Budget ones are from £30 each.
Our 4 year old Smart has done almost 14000 miles and the tyres are still good, so you must have been really nasty to them!!
What brand were they, we find that some do not wear well, Continentals are the worst, on our Volvo they wore out at 18000, then we fitted some decent ones and they did over 30000. When we traded it in the last set had done over 36000 and were still OK.
Our son in law has a VW Polo and is just about to get 2 new tyres fitted, his front wheel Continentals have also worn out at 18000, rears are fine.
Kwik Fit are coming to do it at their house tomorrow, 2 Michelins, fitted and balanced for £150, and they were not the cheapest either, but convenient.
Normally they do not do the tracking unless you ask for it to be done, it is not part of the service or of normal tyre fitting.
If you are frequently hitting kerbs then you may well disturb the wheel geometry and get poor wear, so you should now get it checked. Do not assume that you will need to replace tyres every year, it is not normal.

A bit of a frustrating day. It's been raining quite hard on and off for most of the day. The driveway people seem to have spent the majority of the day sat in their cab during tea and scoffing my chocolate hob-nobs, nipping out to lay a few blocks in between the rain showers. They assure me they'll finished by tomorrow lunchtime. I do hope so as I have elderly visitors in the evening and I don't want to be ferrying them to A&E when they fall into the unfinished gaps.

Walked into town this morning, still a bit slippery in places. Bit of shopping and a hair cut. Had some rain this afternoon so snow is disappearing.
Lots of car parts delivered today, then friend brought her car round for OH to work on, that will keep him busy!
Big windows 10 update on computer yesterday at work, so today couldn't open Sage Accounts, quick phone call to support team and they talked me through the fix.
Just realised Christmas is getting close, and I am not ready.
going to have to get organised this weekend.

Bakers2 - MIL had her knee op week of Easter, mid April. I hate to see our inheritance squandered just to save pain but what can you do?
She's done her excercises every day since and for a near 85 year old is, unfortunately, exceedingly healthy. She keeps asking me who I'm leaving my money to!

My laptop, used to get hire car code from DVLA, has been hours in Windows 10 update now at 99% after 6 or more hours and we're on a good fibre download Haven't needed to do anything else on it but it said I could.

Wow just had a mad hour 😲. Impulsive video call on the phone with daughter and granddaughters. Clear blue sky and the girls running in and out of doors. They've been up since 5.30am done all jobs and still an hour before work so we benefited 😆😆😆😆😆.
During that time 7 text messages came through 😲. Rarely get one! And son rang for a chat 😂😂.
Rang son and had good chat, spoke Monday but it was short and sweet 😉. 2 more text messages came through - madness!! Learned we get the dog for Christmas 😂.
One text from son's girlfriend, sent her text on her last day as physio at doctors to concentrate on farming. She adds looking forward to seeing you over Christmas period 😲😲😲. This is 7th Christmas together and not spent it together yet, we've not seen her over the festive period. This year we really only have 2 days for Christmas max the house isn't decorated to usual standard etc etc and she may come over 😂😂😂😂😂
Don't you just love families?? Granddaughters on countdown and I'm in a panic 😉

Tammygirl I have to admire you work ethic 😉
Not sure its a good thing, think we are a bit touched
who in their right mind decides to decorate the lounge 12 days before Christmas
Tree still in attic along with all decorations. I've now been volunteered to 'do' Christmas lunch so will have to get out and do some shopping.
Need to go to bank as 2 ISA's have matured and need to do something with them, also need to get eyes tested.
Just changed over from BT to Plusnet for phone and broadband so having to get in touch with everyone Re email address etc.
Still no sign of LPG tank fill but we should be ok for another week.
Don't panic (Mr Mannering)

Don't panic - we've madly agreed to have three of our grandchildren (seven, five and just a year old) overnight on Saturday. The two younger ones will be delivered to our house, but then we have to pick up the eldest from a party. Then following a visit to the local park for a bit of a run-around and it's back to run around the island unit in the kitchen (something we have to do everytime they come) until Granny is exhausted. After that the two older ones will make Christmas pizzas with their own choice of toppings.......................whilst Grandad keeps an eye on the baby!
After dinner we're hoping to take them down to my brother's (walking distance) to look through his telescope at the stars because there won't be moonlight............ keeping my fingers crossed for a clear night. Otherwise we're having a walk with torches in the dark! We hope that baby will fall asleep in his buggy (he usually does).
Then back home and to bed for the little one, and baths and bedtime for the older two............................!
Sunday we're going on the Santa Special on the Bolton Abbey and Embsay railway, along with my youngest son and his baby - who is nearly a year old. Well that's the plan. Watch this space.

Sounds like a fairly 'normal' family Christmas Bakers2.
I am sure you will have a wonderful time.

Gosh everyone sounds pre Christmas busy!! I don't think I could cope with decorating anywhere in the house just before Christmas Tammygirl! Our living room needs decorating and we keep putting it off! Oh well hopefully this spring. Your concert last night sounds lovely brue.
I have just been to the Christmas 'jolly' for the volunteers at the Cathedral. Lovely evening held at the Acting Dean's house in the precincts (beautiful house
) On the way home it was sleeting and the gritters were out.

We picked up new caravan on Monday last week. Last Thursday was the first chance to start sorting it out ........... Last Thursday started with this cold! Nearly better but find I get tired and also seems to make arthritis worse. I had hoped to start sorting Sunday ............ then the snows came
Snows cleared during today, caravan sorted for now and packed and new gas pigtail fitted. A few things to put in tomorrow but mainly fridge stuff, steps, water carrier and waste. Check wheel torque also.
Wrapped Fliss' Christmas pressies last night. About 10.30am tomorrow time to motormove the caravan and hitch up for our 15 nights at Southport.

Tammygirl
Just done the same and I think (hope) that BT give you a bit of time before closing the old e-mail account. My problem is that by BT e-mail is years old and far more people than in my contact list have it. I am thinking of paying BT's for a premium mail account, only trouble is that it is £5 a month which is very steep!!! I already have a Plusnet e-mail address but it's long winded compared to the BT one.

I use an e-mail client program rather than tools on e-mail server websites. Just before I changed my e-mail address I had a problem with windows mail so installed Thunderbird program to handle e-mail. I find using such programs makes searching e-mails and deleting from a particular sender far easier.
The point is that I set it up to download mail from my closing server as well as new e-mail. Synced them and got access to all my old e-mails in that way.
Yep it is a nuisance having to change e-mails on electric, insurances etc even then and to notify others

It most certainly does and what I was aiming to avoid this year 😂. Best laid plans ............
I'm sure it will be great.
I think I prefer our 'madness' to Tammygirl's decorating before Christmas 😲. However sleep deprived after the 'madness' I have 2 x 12 hour, roughly, flights to catch up on sleep afterwards 😂😂😂.
Just heard from daughter her work have agreed to her doing 4 long days with Fridays off whilst we are over there. So apparently we can collect girls so they are not 9 hours in day care and have them days or afternoons too 😲😲. Real grandparent duties. First in almost 4 years. We'll need to get those sleep hours in on the plane, we go in cold - no build up to each of their stages as they develop 😂😂 mentally or physically. Oh well only for 3 months I'm sure it'll be fine 😉. We prefer intensive gentle is for wimps 😂😂
