Dear friends of the Caravan and Motorhome Club,

in September and October 2017 visited my wife and I for five weeks your beautiful island.
Main destination was this time again Scotland.
For nine years we are members in the club and are predominantly useful, if possible your Campsites.
The quality of the sites is mostly, apart from few exceptions, very exemplary.
Above all the clean sanitary appliances are very important to us.
The planned run over on the Outer Hebrides have we because of the bad weather
omitted and thus our schedule shifted somewhat.
Thus we reached the Campsite in Southport on Friday - two days in former times than intended. Starting from Sunday four overnight accomodation was booked.
We did not have an information about on the weekend taking place fireworks festival.
Although the site was written off, we could remain thanks of the helpful and friendly Southport team nevertheless. But again cordial thanks!
Also with all other Campsites we were friendly received attentively and.
Besides the teams helped us repetitive with still pending reservations.
Very done we were over newly reconditioned sanitary appliances in Bridlington, Stathclyde Country park and Southport.
Also the Campsite in Abbey Wood will receive hopefully soon a renovation, since she is visited much and all year round is opened.
You are with your renewals on a very good way.
After our return journey we received an unpleasant message of Dart Charge.
In rapid succession us two notices of a fine to relative not paid toll for the use of the A282 Trunk Road Dartford Crossing was sent.
As a foreigner it was not possible for us locally to recognize that a toll is to be paid. There is no possibility to pay directly and also appropriate references is missing!
We transferred toll in the meantime without penalty!
Information for foreign club members would be helpful from there for your part.
We are also in our country against each toll and the opinion the fact that the state may not privatize these things but over the taxes to regulate this.
We look forward to visit your island already soon again.
Yours sincerely

Thank you for sharing. You are very welcome to post any questions in the discussion area if you need any in depth information on touring in the UK. Tolls are relatively rare in the UK although there are a few  on bridges and tunnels and one relatively short stretch of motorway.
