Hi looking at changing the bulbs in my caravan to led is this just a case of swapping the bulbs or do you need special fittings for them also does anyone know of any where they sell the bulbs at reasonable prices
thanks

Nothing special required just make sure you get the correct voltage, base type and wattage. The wattage will be much lower than tungsten lamps, but both these sites will offer help on the choice of wattage and colour.
I used LED Hut when I brought some LED bulbs. I've also used BeamLED.
I can't say if they are cheap but their service is good.

We bought some at a National, they weren't cheap but very good service and advice. We chose white, they advised warm white better, they were right and swopped them for us. We only tried one 😉. We wanted to swop the rest of the bulbs this year and I bought from eBay, thought good price, but they are much dimmer despite everything appearing to be the same. Just swopped the brighter ones to where most light required 😉.
So do check carefully before you buy!
No skill needed I could fit them 😂 just had to nip the pings a bit closer.

They have come down in price since first on the market and continue to do so. They are also becoming far more available in shops but it's worth checking on the Internet for prices and companies selling them, particularly the 12volt ones. I'd go for warm white also.

One thing to check is that the bulbs you choose are fully voltage regulated, as depending on the state of charge, voltage can vary from your 12 volt battery. When I replaced those on our previous van we used Aten lighting. Not the cheapest but very good.

Some cheaper LEDs are not polarity corrected so will not work unless the feed wires are swapped over.
Leds sold for Motorhomes, cars, caravans and trucks generally are more voltage tolerant as the supply voltage varies by 20% (12 to 14 volt) and have a rectifier on the bulb so it does not matter which connector is positive or negative.
