Sticking windows

We have had our Autotrail for a few months now and was hoping that our problem would have disappeared but it hasn't. We are finding it very difficult to push open the windows as the seals on the frame stick to the windows which can only be opened with force! I've thought about possibly smearing the seals with Vaseline or olive oil but not sure if this will have a detrimental on the rubber seals. Has anyone experienced this and is able to offer any solution ?

A light dusting of talcum powder will do the trick, and will stop the seals perishing.

Have  to  agree  with  Triky  there  --  Original  WD40  can  soften  some  plastics,  but  like  some  other  similar  things  WD now  comes  in  'Original'  and  'Silicon'   and  a  third  variety  which  slips ( pun  NOT  intended !!)  my  memory  at  10:30  PM !  I  have  not  done  any  research on  the  latest/newest  versions  but  won't  recommend  them  for  this  problem  'til  I've  had  feed  back.  I'd  use  Talcum  Powder  personally,  if  nothing  else  it  smells  so  much  better  !!innocent

The windows on our Coachman stick too. I've sprayed the seals a few times with silicone spray which works for while we're away on that occasion. Next time we go away again, they're stuck again. I keep meaning to wipe them with a smear silicone grease ...... but keep forgetting. 😯

Thanks to all who replied. It looks like either silicone spray or talcum powder should do the trick.

OH always uses talc. on the seals before the van goes into store. Never had a problem in 30 years.
