Getting into York from Beechwood Grange

I understand why the stud at Beechwood grange would not want dogs bothering young foals or horses in foal ( if indeed they would) but I do question how enforceable it is, is it private land? Do the stud own the club site and all land around it? Would be interested to know. I’m not a dog owner, in fact I ride horses for a living .

When I rang the site to confirm that I couldn't walk the Dog along the access road, they said that the Stud farm owns all the land & the club rent the site off the stud farm. I asked how was it enforceable & was told that the farmer would come out & stop us.

Now why doesn't that surprise me. There's never any adverse comment made in the reviews in the magazine.

I think a lot of our club site neighbours would benefit from this restriction 😕

Join the original Caravan Club and hence drive to the P & R. Problem with MH's is that they can't walk or drive it seems.

This attitude is what gets caravaners a bad name, bet you also dont comply with the 5mph rule !!!!!

i think you've got that a** about face, W&J.....
we'd be cycling or walking into York not driving a mile to a P&R to then get a lift into town
dont you ever use your legs?.....other than walking from your car to the bus stop.

No chance. I’ve been trying to book Rowntree Park for months and finally managed to get a couple of nights last weekend. It was heaving. According to the web site it has been fully booked for November and December since about May.
If you use the park and ride, check when it closes in the evening. It’s not very flexible if you want to stay out after about 5 p.m.

We have just come back from 3 nights at Rowntree Park & had a great time. Its a great site in a fantastic location. The wardens were 1st class & the only negative was the weather, it snowed & snowed. York itself was extremely busy but worth the crowds. The national railway museum was a great day out we saw the Mallard, the Flying Scotsman & a life size replica of Stephenson's Rocket. We will definitely visit RP again. I have left a review if anyone wants to read more.
Thanks to all for your contributions.
