I have just noticed that Minnows Touring Park is up for sale.

This is a delightful little site just off the M5 at Junction 27 so is ideal for touring the local area or as a stop off on route from the North and Midlands to Cornwall.

According to the advert from Savills it's been an affiliate site for 21 years, and now has planning permission to replace 14 of the 59 pitches with 7 lodges. There are also up to 40 storage pitches.

Let's hope we don't lose this site from the network. Come on CAMC how about buying it to be a full club site?

I rather went off Minnows when they pitched us in the sloping end field that was supposed to be special. The traffic noise was deafening.

We've used Cadeside in preference since and I’m sure someone posted that Cadeside was to gain more pitches. If that’s the case, I can’t see the club being interested in buying nearby Minnows.

Interesting it's being marketed by Savills with whom the Club already has a close relationship withwink

If they have planning permission for lodges it might suit the C&CC? Whether the CMC is interested is likely to depend on what other sites they have nearby. I could be wrong but if the Club were interested I suspect the site would never have gone on public sale in the first place as they already have a relationship with the owners?

I have used the site twice. Once over 20 years ago and more recently this year. The present owners have only been there a short time I think.

The Minnows was sold approx this time last year , the new owners seemed very nice and friendly

It seems a shame they have to sell so quickly after buying it , its a lovely site beside the canal but as TW states can be deafening.

Looking at Savill's web page its showing as sold. I wonder if its just been left on the website to make them look good at selling this type of property?

Thanks for the feedback, I haven't visited Minnows this year as we've too busy visiting other sites; although I do most years so didn't realise it was old news.

Pleased to hear the new owners seem nice, I love it's location on the canal and have never been badly disturbed by noise.

I've never been to Cadeside no toilet block makes it an absolute no go site for us. Sorry for the pun.

I had not thought of Cadeside as an Alternative to the Minnows.I did not realise that they are about 10 miles apart. I would choose Cadeside in preference I think.

Hi KGF, where did you see this site up for sale?      Could it be old stuff hanging around after the last time it was sold, just last year?

We used it a lot when Zig was there, but have not been recently due our own circumstances changing.    We always camped in the vicinity of the San Block/back gate and were never troubled with noise.
