Winter trip in UK
We are thinking of taking our Burstner away for 7 to 10 days in Jan Feb next year, could anyone recommend all year open sites they have visited coupled with locations which have sufficient things of interest to do, given the time of year, we particularly like coastlines but are open to all suggestions
many thanks
Sorry I should have added we are based in the Cheltenham area

What area are you thinking of? Melrose in the Borders is open all year, in the town with lots to do in the surrounding area and a day trip to Edinburgh is possible due to the newly opened railway station near the site ( a few minutes drive or 30 minute walk). The coast is also drivable in a day.
Bridlington is good too, with all the coast right there and inland into Yorkshire, good site

When I looked recently you could still get week on a non awning pitch at Rowntree Park, York third week in January. I cannot think of many places with more to do in January. Although there are also plenty of places to visit from Chester Fairoaks which also had vacancies.

Last January we did a 2 week trip south, stopping at Bury, Chester, Bristol, Peterborough, York and Middlesbrough. Loved it hoping to do something similar this coming Jan/Feb.
Not sure about Melrose corners, not somewhere I would suggest at that time of year, or any time to be honest doesn't do it for me, maybe you need a car to get around

Come down to Somerset and stay at the Minehead site. You can walk to the sea front, have a coffee somewhere, the steam trains will probably be running on a few days, there are plenty of good pubs around and you'll have easy access to lovely Exmoor. Take a drive up onto Selworthy Beacon which overlooks the site and take in the views to Wales and the Bristol Channel.

Yep, Exmoor area is lovely. Inland, can recommend Shropshire for a Winter break, Shrewsbury and Ludlow are lovely, lots of lovely historical places to visit, and great scenery/ walking up,on the Long Mynd. Some good sites offering discounts and 3 for 2 night offers.
If you fancy a bit further afield, then the East Coast of Yorkshire has lots to offer around the North York Moors area. Whitby and Scarborough are always buzzing in the Winter months, with lots to see and do, and the Moors are simply stunning. Good Winter site for this area is a couple of miles from Pickering....Cliff Farm. Heated showers and loos, honesty freezer, dog walks, good location for getting out and about, and decent price.

" Take a drive up onto Selworthy Beacon....."
or walk....
the road upto the beacon is a bit tight for MHs although we did camp at the C&CC site a few years back.....had to breathe in, lol
Dont know of there are any open sites there, but Cardiff os fairly jandy and has lots going on....or try Baltic Wharf before moving to (say) Minehead, break the trip up, and loads to do in Bristol including dock area.
