Cl's on line booking system
Just booked some days at Tax farm CL in Derbyshire, the pitches all have water, grey waste and electric, Now they have a brilliant on line booking system where you can select day date time of arrival and,and select you're own pitches, Why can't all Cl's with the help of this club do the same. It would boost there business 10 fold. PS if you want a cracking break in Derbyshire have a look at Tax Farm Website, There getting booked up quick, no waiting till the 6th December!!!!!!!!

Yes, it would be better if there was online booking system for every CL. It's not always easy to book by phone especially in areas where the signal is poor.

M, i was thinking that, too...
a site like this might have better access than a rural phone (mobile) or owners who work and cant respond quickly to messages...
it wouldnt be difficult to copy a section of the club booking system (the only bit that works decently) and add in the CL sites as a separate section.
even a small fee paid by CLs would add up to enough to get a decent consultant in to do it properly
the ease of booking and the increase in t/o would soon pay for the implementation.

Entirely agree. I use only CLs and if wanting to book several for a tour it's not easy when the CL owner is out working (quite understandably) and one has to leave a message, leaving the trip itinerary hanging in mid-air waiting for a call back. I would certainly use more CLs if there was an online booking facility. But IMHO the CAMC don't feel inclined to promote or even support CLs (which seems because the CAMC reluctantly lists CLs as a 'favour' to members when they'd much rather have the income from their own sites).

Marcus, you are right 'on the money'. You might be surprised to hear that an increasing number of CL's have already got their own booking systems.
We have had one here at Cholsey Grange for the past 4 or 5 years and although it costs around £15/month we would not be without it. About 60% of our visitors use it, rather than booking by phone.
It ensures we don't overbook, ensures that the visitor gets all the confirmations, booking reminders and pre-arrival info and helps us with book-keeping. For our visitors it means that they can view our availability and book online at any time of day or night.
Other CL's with on-line booking already in place include; Higher Bochym in Cornwall, Skybarn Farm in Lincolnshire, Greenacres in the Cotswolds, Welltrough Hall Farm, Greetham Retreat, Field House Farm in North Yorkshire, Birch Hill in Shropshire and many others.
Some have built their own system, other use commercial systems adapted to meet the needs of CL owners. There are at least 4 or 5 systems on the market already, so there's no need to reinvent the wheel.
The CL Owners Group (now numbering around 400 CL Owners) is actively encouraging CL's to investigate and evaluate booking systems, so you may see more come 'on-line' for next season.
I have asked the Club to promote CL's that have booking systems via their Facebook Pages. I am hoping they do so in due course.

We were at Tax Farm about 2months ago.and the on-line booking is great .the CL itself is brilliant, pitches are level and fully serviced .The entry road is a little steep but once on the pitch the views are to die for.

Whose bright idea was it to change the search facility for a CL to one where you get sent round in a circle taking you to the bit with a time slot. I found that I wanted to search in a particular area of the country and got to the selection via Google when searching "CL's near ..........." (fill in the blank) The pretty picture with the Search for a CL button just takes you back to the beginning where you have a choice to browse the site. Someone did not test this part of the web pages properly. Get if fixed!

Get ready to book your 2018 UK holidays
From 8am today, pitches on our UK Club sites will be on sale to members for stays up until 4 January 2019*. During this time the website will be very busy and we have to limit time spent making a reservation to be fair to everyone and to keep the system running smoothly. To ensure your booking is fulfilled, we’ve put together a check list of important points:
Sign into 'My Profile' from 7am on 6 December
Prepare a list of sites and dates in advance (as the usual site search will be switched off)
After 8am, you’ll be given a 10 minute slot to make a booking (when a slot becomes free)
One slot gives you the opportunity to make one booking. After you complete a booking, you may return to this page to await your next slot
Bookings can be viewed/cancelled in ‘My Profile’ immediately but your reference number may take up to 24 hours to come throughWe want to make every effort to minimise disruption to members during this time. To alleviate any extra load on the system, between 5 – 6 December the UK Sites App and some areas of the website will be unavailable. These are: Search by Map, Late Availability and Certificated Location search. Normal service on the UK Sites App should resume no later than 10am on 7 December

Hi SuttonColdfield,
Sorry to learn of the difficulties you were experiencing with the website yesterday.
As mentioned above by EasyT, yesterday was Peak Booking Day dates in 2018 through to 4th January 2019. Due to the high volume of members using the website certain parts of our website, including searching for a CL, were temporarily unavailable. All sections of the website should be working as normal from 10am today.
If you are still experiencing issues after 10 am please let me know and I will raise this with the IT department.
Thanks
Maddie

We also only use cl's and would love them all to have an online booking facility with a payment option as well. In the meantime half of them can't even be bothered to upload photos of what you might expect to see on arrival. I certainly won't be staying there!
