If 4G or WiFi signal is important to you when touring read on.

Researching and choosing a site to stay at based on signal

Of course each of the Operators has 'Cell Maps' but what's it really like? Does it work?  If you take a look at  this website from an independent company called Open Signal it will show you whether there is good 2G/3G or 4G signal at any particular location for each Operator.  This is based on real-life data from phones.

Finding a better signal once on site / checking the WiFi speed

Real Wireless also offer an 'App' for your phone which you can download. It will tell you in which direction the nearest Cell Tower (mast) is for your network, so that you can find a better signal. It will also measure WiFi speeds.  You can choose whether or not to share this data with friends or with Real Wireless in the settings.

An increasing number of CL's (around 11% at present) also now have WiFi (often free), so don't assume you won't be able to get WiFi on a CL
