If I am right you posted in another discussion that all you need is a battery locker lock tongue fitting under warranty. I bought one from a small local dealer for less than £2 and fitted it myself when a similar incident happened to me on my last Lunar. Surely a large dealer like Campbell's should have one in stock which could be replaced by the one from Lunar when it arrives! If you now need more warranty work I am mistaken.

ForestR, you are right, i thought it was the tongue required but when i sent pics to campbells they said the whole door needed as cover that hides lock on inside was broken off and fixtures missing. I think what happened was the battery strap went loose as the bracket hold strap broke. this is the trouble with strength items made of plastic.

Our last of five new UK built 'vans was a '95 ECCLES ( one of the last built at Newmarket before Swift took over ) a very good well made 'van. In 2000 we decided we'd heard enough of the " leaky Lunar's, soggy Swifts " stories so decided to make ( what I thought at the time ) a great leap into the unknown by purchasing a new to the UK T.E.C. caravan, so good our next four would be T.E.C's, after that we purchased a GEIST from the same Hymer factory in Sassenbourg. We then had a Hymer Nova and on returning to live in England in 2016 I was advised by my dealer that of the UK 'vans Coachman was probably a little better than the norm. A V.I.P. was duly purchased, probably the " poshest " 'van we've ever owned, but my they ain't improved, that lasted only a few months and we are now back onto Hymers. As in the post quoted UK manufacturers tart up a new model every year Hymer maybe change a gas locker design every decade.
Though to be truthful this new Nova 580 GL was taken to Tockfield Ltd yesterday to have replacement foam fitted to the seating area as in our opinion the original was too soft. I have reported this back to Hymer and didn't mind paying for the refoaming myself as it was my choice.

we bought a new delta ts in 2016 first new van, always had swift before, can only say i will never have a lunar again.problems so far.
new water inlet panel
new external gas inlet panel
new water level sensor
new main sky light
new main sky light trim
new stub axle ass
five led interior lights
two exterior lights
new main door fly screen
new wash room door lock ass
the van is still at dealers and has been since august as water system is still not working .they are waiting for parts to upgrade to 2018 set up.
would say that out of the 18 months we have had van has been in dealers 6 of them
it seams every time we use van some thing goes wrong

I still cannot work out what is a external gas inlet panel is.
I have had two Lunars previously and the only faults encountered over 7 years of ownership was a Tom Jones CD stuck in the the CD player,(yes honestly) meaning every time I switch the 12v supply on" its not unusual" came on.It was a cheap cd out of a newspaper, and eventually managed to get the cd to eject after using a pair of thin flat pliers to pull it out.The second issue was the cassette toilet light had an intermittant fault.If fact the van was so reliable it was a difficult decision when part exchanging it.Would I purchase another,and if I had a local dealer, on my experience yes.

I suspect that the situation is reverse with manufacturers designing around available fittings although no doubt there is some design interchange of ideas.

As with all manufacturers there will be good and bad uns.
We've had 3 caravans in 3 years all brand new
May 2015 Lunar Quasar 462 - 5 Faults in 11 months
Mar 2016 Sterling Elite 560 - 43 Faults in 10 months
Mar 2017 Lunar Delta RI - 8 Faults 4 Faults in 8 months

You certainly can, not sure where the 8 Faults came in on it, it should be 4 .
1. Touch Ceiling lights were intermittent, so dealer posted out a full new set and we replaced them ourselves.
2. The Black panel at the front with the word Lunar came unstuck - dealer fitted a new one.
3. Screws in the supporting arms for the big sunroof sheared. Dometic really need to increase the spec on those screws.
4. 240V cable came out of the back of the PSU, appears to have shaken out after a trip down the Fosse Way. This is believed to have been loose from fitting the motor mover (fitted after PDI). Dealer sent someone to site, took 7 minutes to dismantle the wooden surround and 7 seconds to plug back in. We would have fixed it if we'd have known where all the fixings were.
It had 1 trip back to the dealer and it's completed 51 nights of use. We certainly have no plans to sell it because we consider it a good un.

Bought our 2017 Lunar Solaris 462 in June and 63 bed-nights later we're still very pleased with our choice. I've fixed a couple of minor problems not picked up by Lunar's QA or the PDI, but nothing that warrants a return to the dealer.

thanks for that. I class these as minor faults but very annoying ones on such a new caravan. I have the 2016 model and very pleased with it as second hand I expect the odd fault. service next couple of weeks so couple of faults need looking at 1--spot light in bedroom not working, wiring fault as 12v getting to light and light works straight on battery. 2--one lounge spot is the same. common fault I believe. what do you pull yours with. I to a look at the new Delta TR with the new fixed bed and more room either side so could be upgrade when/if used ones come on market.

Very much minor faults which is why we do believe we have a good one. When it goes for service next year I’ll be asking them replace the cooker trivet as the enamel is starting to wear on that which is a thetford quality issue as we only use aluminium pans so nothing too heavy. I’m also going to get them to replace the door blind as well.
We tow it with an Audi Q3 184 S Line. When that leaves us in 21 months we will probably go for something with a greater max nose weight, but that would be the only reason. It towed up and down the 14% inclines on the Fosse exceptionally well this summer which I thought it might struggle with but didnt.

I bought a new clubman 2 berth in April, had a couple of niggles, but currently have a broken door handle, which means I can only get into the van using the key.
The Replacement handle has been agreed with lunar, however I had to take the van to my dealer, (100 mile round trip), who took photo,s and sent them to lunar with the warranty claim.
Parts take 6/8 weeks to arrive

We are on our second Lunar this being a 2017 Delta TS. We are very pleased with the caravan we did need a few LED lights replaced which was the light manufactures fault hardly Lunar's. The most important factor in buying a caravan is using a GOOD dealer. A good dealership can make or brake your caravan experience. Our new lights were fitted in our own driveway to save having to take the caravan to them,

We have had 2016 Lunar SE and had problems with the Truma Pump failing. This was identified on first service resulting in several months of the caravan being dryed out at the dealers and a new floor. We have contacted Lunar and they only want us to deal with our dealer who has been excellent but we are very annoyed at their lack of customer service. We have tried the Consumer Act with no joy. Our van is now in winter storage as we do not have the confidence to use it for our trip to Spain until the spring. We have seen several postings on this website with the same issue. We are going to take the matter up with Turma as we believe this is their failure in the New Year

We have had a Lunar Lexon 530 bought new in Oct 2014. Every year since it has had to have the floor repaired. I asked the dealer (Campbells) if Lunar could examine the van to determine why the repairs were only lasting 6 months. So far there has been no response, meanwhile we are waiting yet again for the necessary items to carry out the floor repairs again. Buy another Lunar ? Hmmm, the jury is out on that one.

Like you, lornalou1, I have to go to Bamber bridge to have the van serviced and repaired. Unfortunately Campbells bought out the only other decent dealer in the area Reads in Blackburn so there is no alternative now.

Campbells only do servicing at the depot in Leyland, Reads did do servicing at their depot at Whitebirk near Blackburn but that appears to have been shut down after the takeover but caravan sales are still carried out there.
