My wife uses part of the awning for drying the washing when it's raining.

Boy's and their Toy's
Spent an hour or two cleaning and polishing my motor bike (1050cc Triumph) It's booked in for MOT next Tuesday. Now the funny bit, it's done 16 miles since the last one Then went to the garage and started up the other car ( my 44 year old Triumph Stag) took it for a short spin then put the dust cover on it again. first time out for about 8 weeks. It also only did about 200 miles between MOT's last year.
The good news is the Stag, being 44 years old, which makes it VED exempt, will qualify for the MOT exemption being introduced next May (20th) for cars over 40 years old, so something less to do next year

I had an email from our new energy supplier asking for meter readings on the gas and electricity. So I went out and read them and logged on to the site. I gave the Gas reading and looked for the electric prompt but couldn't find one.
Went to their live chat line only to be told that I couldn't provide one until the end of the month when my new deal kicks in. She couldn't explain why I was able to give a gas reading which also starts at the end of the month or as to why her company had sent an email to me asking for one! Great start to our relationship.
Pointless them asking me and pointless me getting involved so if you were giving points for pointlessness then I would have double nothings!

I was chatting to friends this week, we've all changed energy companies this year, I used UKPower to do the switching, so far so good. Our friends seem to have had suspiciously low bills with the company they chose and I'm wondering if they're in for some complicated phone sessions soon?

Well thats us took another step on the way back to caravanning. We are due to collect our new caravan next month so today we went out and bought a new towcar. Its a vey nice Volvo V70 its 8 years old but low mileage and one owner from new we bought from the same garage and salesman that we have been dealing with for 15 years so hopefully every thing goes ok. Can't wait to get the new van now and get a weekend away in it.

What has made you switch from a MH?

Hi CY
We motorhomed for 4 years and really enjoyed it but we wanted to go back to a fixed bed van and for the price of a 10 year old fixed bed MH we managed to get a brand new fixed bed Caravan and a really good trade in price for our Auto-Trail. Also I missed caravanning so dont mind going back to it

Received a voting form today, from the Electoral Reform bods.
Was instructed NOT to put a cross against my choice but to indicate my preference with a '1' and then go on to indicate next preference with a '2'. This was a single transferrable vote.
Only snag was, there were only two candidates. How pointless the transferrable aspect is!
Needless to say I did not bother to vote.

Woke to dry and bright grey. Opted to wash the towels after listening to the forecast. Already had a load done overnight. Went to peg out 1st load, mainly smalls drizzle 😤. Very wet fine stuff, so what to do with that on hold for the mo. Awaiting towels to finish. Why do I bother to listen to the forecast? Pointless of the first order!

Retrieved cat from cattery this morning, found ensconced on a very warm heated pad, just about willing to leave it for the sound of a few dreamy biscuit bag shakes. The owner of the cattery is in Africa volunteering on an elephant reserve so her friends were running it for her just now. Amazing what people do in their leisure time.

I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep so it was pointless staying in bed. So here I am posting on here instead!

Stood outside this morning, enjoying the view over the frosty hedges, the smell of slurry drifting up my nose....

Brue, please forgive my ignorance but I just have to ask :--
In your 'Personal Piccy' are those tiny pumpkins or are the others Humungous Great Mince Pies with pears on top ??
( Dont fret about that rural aroma, at least your sinusiziz are clear !! )

So, I call into Tesco petrol station this morning. A big queue in the shop waiting to pay. I'll use the pre-pay machine thingy, says I. I insert my club card (twice as the first time wasn't accepted) and then insert my credit card. Won't accept it! Try again. Still won't accept it. Try a different card. Still no luck. So abandon that idea and press the Pay in Shop button. Get to till and ask why the machine wouldn't accept card and am informed that they new system doesn't accept any of the regular bank cards, such as Nationwide, Santander, Nat. West, Amex but only sometimes and then sometimes they do, and indeed they did only 2 weeks ago at the same machine!
What have Tesco's done about it I ask? Nothing came the reply, it's up to the clearing banks to sort it out was their explanation.
Why not put a notice up then, informing customers which cards may be rejected? Because sometimes they are accepted came the reply.
Sometimes you just have to shake your head and move on.

I have suggested to Tesco that their self service till are at least equipped with holograms of a friendly face that will smile when you wait for the sigh of exasperation from the "human"when they arrive after my yet again failure to understand "unidentified object in packing area"
