     John

Just out of interest have you heard anything that has prompted your question? Crystal Palace as a site seems to have been under  treat for some time. The last time was when they were planning the London Olympic Games when one of the venues/training camps was going to be in that area but the development wasn't carried through. I am not sure what the status of the site is as it says in the Sites Directory that it is Club owned?

The club have just given it a write up in the latest magazine as a site to use for visits to London. If the site was going to close surely they wouldn't have included it, would they? mmm Maybe they would....undecided

The problem for all city based sites can be in the sheer value of the site on the open market!   Just imagine for one moment, the real estate value of the Chrystal Palace site. It will run into many millions of Pounds sterling!

That is what in the long run will sink the future of the Baltic Wharf site in Bristol.  The owners Bristol City Council desperately need cash, and the Baltic Wharf site will deliver that for them.

TF, never in a million years would anyone get planning permission on that land it backs on to the park and there is nothing along that entire road in the way of buildings apart from the TV mast.

I do feel that the review in the mag should emphasize to anyone staying that all the attractions London has to offer should be visited using public transport. Traffic is horrendous quite a lot of the time, If you do venture in to it you have the congestion charge and T charge (if you don't meet the criteria) to pay and if you do find somewhere to park expect to pay at least £5+ an hour for the privilege.

    Milo,

You clearly know the area/ situation better than I do, as its about 25 years since I last stayed there. So I hope that you are right!  I totally agree in respect of needing to use Public Transport, and I do remember even then in the 90's being urged to make use of the very convenient bus stops just outside the site.  Actually I think anyone would be quite mad to do otherwise!

I just hope that you are correct re the restrictions on the use of the land.  The need to build more & more houses is starting to get acute.

The "club owned" i think is a bit misleading information again as several that show that they are is not correct, good example Baltic Wharfundecided

You need to find the right car park.  the one we use by Westminster Bridge is just over £12 all day

Hi John, Our lease for the site runs out at the end of 2018, and we will be in discussion with our landlord about whether or not there is any possibility in extending it. Further announcements about the future of the site will be made as soon as we have any confirmed news in the new year.

Wrong!! Planning permission granted for 140 homes, leisure centre and a bus station. Very sad!
