We are booked in to Hawes site for Christmas and lunch at the Crown Inn. We now find the pub owner is leaving but cannot get any info as to what is now going to happen. We have spoken to the owner several times only to be told she will call us back but to date this hasn't happened.Fortunately no deposit has been paid - anyone else in this situation?

Thanks Bod

    Wish we could join you!  I had the privilege of being vicar of Haes from 1981 - 85.  You will have a wonderful time there and may well see some snow.  Sorry i can't help with your question.

     <INFO HERE>

    Under 'Latest News' she does say she looks forward in a few months time to being on the other side of the bar, so someone else must be going to run it.

    Thank you for your replìes. We booked the table in August and should have received menu mid October - lets hope the brewery find someone else to run it or there will be a lot of disappointed people - ours was the last table available. Tried the White Hart but they don't serve Christmas Lunch.

    We are going to Hawes for Christmas but eating in the van. Not decided on menu yet but it wont be Turkey. Currently thinking is Fillet steak Stroganoff.. Followed by cheese cake made prior to arrival. Washed down with a good Rioja.

    We went a couple of years ago and had a fabulous Christmas lunch in The Crown. Such a shame the publican’s leaving, I hope they get someone as good to run it.

    star pubs and bars are owned by the heineken breweryand are a difficult company to deal with so i imagine probaly just as bad to work for try the cafe that is above the spar shop which is just across the main road been there loads of times and always good food and value for money
