I am looking for a couple of nights at a site in the above area. I have looked at Hurn and Country View at Sand Bay.  I would like to be able to walk to the sea, and we don’t really want to move the motorhome when it is sited. We do not have children and enjoy the countryside. Any other opinions or suggestions?

The walk to the beach from Hurn Lane took us about 15 minutes and there was also a bus service on the coast road to Weston and Burnham. There was also a shop on the adjoining large commercial site entered from the coast road.

We have stayed at Uphill Marina, it is basic but very well positioned.  Five minutes walk to the beach, 5 minutes walk to a lovely local pub, walks direct from the site.  We stayed for two nights and didn't move the van once on site.  Bit strange as we never saw the wardens at all when we were there but the facilities were kept clean and the pitches were good sized and looked after, we had a hard standing pitch.  There is also a nice café at the entrance to the site.

If I wanted to stay on the coast in this area I'd go for Uphill too. smile

If you are interested in wildlife, the field across the stream/river is a favourite afternoon hunting ground for short eared owls

You are welcome, I am really looking forward to their return, which is due anytime soon. Up to three at a time were seen often last year.
