Good deed done
I’d like to say a big thank you to the club member who so kindly re pegged our awning on Saturday.
i was at the Blackpool South site for the weekend and we went out for the day on Saturday to return to find the wind had taken hold of our awning and some very kind person had re pegged it down saving the bits and bobs inside and fro it flying off.Weasked around on the Sunday but could not find who the kind Samaritan was so it’s a BIG THANK YOU. It’s things like this that makes me proud to be part of this great family.

Same here Bakers. Last time about 5 years ago on a windy Barnard Castle site. We were having a quiet day in as OH had injured her knee. Three quarter awning across from us was coming adrift. Even though our awning was up and OK I had half a box of rock pins in front locker and tried repegging with double pegs. After 20 mins that started to fail and so I sought help from the warden and together we took awning down, rolled it up and into his trailer along with awning contents. He kindly spread it out in his garage. I believe that two other awnings were also taken down by him and other campers.
It was amusing to see the bemused look on the faces of the couple when they returned from a meal out with friends to find awning and contents missing.
They were grateful however
