Apprently one member complained to the Club , fancy all those people going away to far away places to enjoy themselves....... disgraceful 👦

With the storm coming into Cornwall and Devon tonight there will be far fewer flags by morning - flown away to Belgium and beyond I think. I just hope the caravans on the exposed sites like Trewethett and Damage Barton aren't blown away too. Good wishes to anyone there.

New arrivals here at Treamble Valley today have just put their flagpole and flags up, wind gusts only forecast of 60 mph. Just wondering how long it will be there.surprisedsurprised

Have seen so many things on CC sites that,  unless it effects me directly i am not going to bother moaning or complaining .

If people want to fly flags, leave awning lights on all night, run heaters in awning, so be it, i am there to enjoy myself .

Just returned from a week in the peak district ( Poolsbrook C.P. ) While re-laying the hookup cable out after some grass cutting I saw what I thought was a kite ( sort of bat shaped ) in the bushes at the back of our pitch, on reflection I now suspect it was once on the top of one of these perhaps 6 Mtr fibreglass poles. It had a length of cord (about 1Mtr ) attached to it with a couple of quick detach fishing swivels one either end.

Hi KevinH, we left Treamble this morning,  had a lovely time, saw the flags still up this morning, which was good, they did bend well in the wind yesterday.  laughing

I know this is probably a tongue-in -cheek comment you've made.  But, maybe your wife needs to go for a memory test.  My f-in law started off just like that, couldn't find his car in a near empty carpark, couldn't remember the exit in the supermarket he had shopped at for years.

    Hopfully you were just joking.

Not on a Club site but on the large rallies this is what prompted me to get a flag and pole. Trouble was many had the same idea and now you have to find something unique to fly in order to spot your van from a distance.

Sorry no sympathy with those who dislike it, miserable folk who I don't particularly want to meet on site.

Just 'cause I don't like flags doesn't make me miserable PD. I like Christmas decorations on site but do not like those that flash frantically.

Nothing wrong with the occasional flag, is there?

The miserable folk on site probably wouldn't wish to meet the sad people that fly flags but most will just accept that some of our beautiful views on sites will at times be spoiled by others.

Well we flew our kite in the field next to Haycraft Club site yesterday. I was really worried that we had contravened some Club bye-law or other and hope nobody was upset but the grandchildren were SO excited. The best time ever, they said! I don’t think they had ever seen a real kite before. Made sure we stopped when the dog walkers came around.

Live and let live I say.

I think its a real shame that you posted this, you should Just be able to enjoy the moment  without worrying about any objections others may have, if anyone doesn't like it that's their problem.

Don't worry, Old Chap, the view was spoiled long ago by the rows of white metal boxes with various coloured canvas appendages. Compared to that lot one can hardly notice a flag, or two.

I don't have a flag pole, I just look for the caravan with my car parked along side it tongue-out

Can't believe how a few flags can generate such negative comments. We all go away to enjoy ourselves and while someone playing  Wagner at full volume would spoil things I really can't see how a few flags will.

No dogs, no kids, no flags, no fun not my idea of a good time.

I don't know, I think even the Der Ring des Nibelungen would have more appeal to me than Flags, but it goes on a bitwink Perhaps the answer is to set the flags to music? On second thoughts maybe not.
