Hi any experts with a solution to a front window blind on my Coachman that seems to jam on opening. This is the pleated double type of blind with the mesh flyscreen attached to the top.

The blind closes satisfactory,(moving the blind up)but on opening you have to put more pressure on it to "force " it past the section where it jams.

Looking at the arrangment there does not seem any adjustment or anything fouling.

I had one of my blinds fall apart but was able to repair with the help of this article by using additional screws.

I had a similar problem with one of my blinds, it tended to stick when being closed (pulled down) but worked OK when being opened (pulled up). The reason was that if you closed the blind using the finger channel made for the purpose the aluminium part distorted and scraped on the runner. When pushing the blind up we tend to push from the underside so the aluminium doesn't distort and so the blind moves freely. So, when closing the blind take hold of the complete aluminium strip and pull down so that it stays in the same place relative to the channel. Would also suggest using silicone spray in the runner (sparingly). Hope this makes sense as it is difficult to explain!

Thanks OS and NC yes this is what happens when operating the aluminium bar that joins the fly screen to the night blind. After playing around with it if you restrict the bar from pinching the runners it works ok,so the more pressure you put on it the worse it gets.I actually wiped the inside of the guide with washing up liquid (all I had at the time) and it did make an improvement. So whilst not 100% ok at the present at least I can get around it until next service.

The spray can be messy. I used a drop of this instead. Easy to control.

I bought my bottle over 12 years ago to use on some drawers. A little goes a long way
