Motorhomers beware
A couple of day's ago I was driving (by car) over to Applecross via the Bealach Na Ba. The stream of traffic was continually being blocked by Motorhomes whose drivers seemed oblivious of the many passing places on that route causing tailbacks as the motorhome drivers seemed unable to reverse back uphill to the passing place they had just ignored.
This road is not one to be taken lightly, a degree of forward thinking and consideration is required. Best to avoid that route if unable to comply.

That also works with so cars when I'm towing. Get on a single track road, they've just passed a passing place, but that sit and look me to do something. At best they then move slightly more to their left as if to suggest we'll then be able to pass each other.

It applies to all such roads. It's not the roads, or the vehicles, but the drivers' failure to look ahead beyond the ends of their noses.

There was me thinking you'd taken up ballet, David.

The sign does not state "trailer caravans" so therefore "motor caravans" are also excluded.
I think I'll call my towed caravan a "trailercottage" so I can dodge these exclusions. How many years until The Trailercottge and Motorhome Club then?

No wonder we get bad press. Anyone using rural roads need to be aware of local traffic. Holding up those at work or going to work is inexcusable. Likewise we now avoid the highlands because of the bad drivers. Why anyone uses the pass is beyond me. Just use the northern route and save everyone the hastle.

Today we decided to take the " scenic route " from Winchcombe to Hinckley. North of Moreton on the Fosseway for more than ten miles are red signs advising that it's " Risk of crash area " ! Why oh why, all roads are risk of crash area's. Towing our caravan we were held up by a solo car being followed by another for some 15 mls at less than 35mph causing a train of traffic behind us ( and one can guess what they were thinking ) We eventually decided it was safe to overtake both vehicles, the first an Audi the guy would have been in no hurry to overtake, he was texting, the one in front decided to accelerate seeing us coming by.
Happy caravanning !
