not to mention the rust and reliability of the Alfa Romeo Alfasud.

The point is though Banff is that you're only looking at the top end cars, A bit like saying if only Jaguar and Rolls-Royce made caravans. Yes they would be great but very expensive?

    Wingamm

Tiny monocoque fibreglass caravans. Very clever design. Fits a lot into a tiny space

Oh No ..  Could be the caravan equivalent of FIAT vehicles.  They are not nicknamed " Fix It Again Tony "    For nothing.  laughing

Rev and rev and rev and still it wouldn't reverse uphilllaughing . You've pretty much got it, DD, but don't forget water ingress under the bonnet and into the headlights and the EGR valve. Being carried home from Scotland was the last straw. 2007 3 litre. yell

Wasn’t the Seicento actually built in Poland....? However the OP refers to design, which I agree the Italians have a flair for, but build quality? Mmmm, not too sure about that albeit recent Fiat offerings seem ok for the money.

I don't know of any Italian caravan manufacturers (the Italians don't seem to go for caravans to the extent that we do), but there are plenty of Italian manufacturers of motorhomes that could give one an idea of what they are capable of (Mobilvetta, Elnagh, Roller Team, to name just a few).

Hymer in 2007/2008 used an Italian design house to style the interior of their Nova 546 "S" caravan; we have one of these rare gems.

Probably the best of both worlds then, Italian styling with Hymer construction and at a time when the Pound Euro exchange rate was leaning well in our favour?

We were going to go on a chair lift in Italy. When we got there OH saw that the manufacturer was Italian, not Swiss, and refused to go on it. Unfair?
